I'm walking down to Starbucks in Miami Beach with my boyfriend Danny. We walk in and smell the inviting scent of coffee beans. I remember the day we met. It was just like this. Suddenly, it's June 10, 2009 again.
-NICOLE'S FLASHBACK-
"Hello. Welcome to Starbucks. What would you like?" asked the girl, about my age, behind the register. "I'd like a White Mocha Frappuccino please." I replied. I handed her a 20 dollar bill and she handed me back my change. She asked me, "May I have your name please?" I nodded and said, "Nikki." She nodded, wrote my name on a cup, made my drink, and plopped it onto the counter of drinks.
I grabbed my drink, turned around, and bumped right into a brown haired boy that looked around my age. "Oh great." I mumbled. My drink and his drink got on my new outfit that I literally just bought at Forever 21. "Oh my gosh! I'm really sorry about that. I'll buy you a new frap and give you some money for new clothes." he said. "It's okay." I muttered.
"Let me introduce myself the correct way," the boy said, "The name's Daniel." Daniel was actually really cute. His brown eyes sparkled as he stared at me. "My name's Nicole, but I like being called Nikki." I told him. "Do you live around here?" he asked me. I nodded and replied, "Yeah. I live right a few minutes away." He said, "Me too! And let me guess. In about 2 months you will be going into 10th grade, right?" I nodded and asked, "You too?" He smiled real wide and said, "Yeah. Would you like to walk around the beach with me?" "Yes," I replied, "It would be a pleasure to spend a day with someone as sweet and cute as you."
Daniel and I walked along the beach as the sun was setting. "I think it's time we go." he said. I shook my head and said, "But I'm having so much fun with you! Can we just stay here for a little longer? Pretty please?" He chuckled and announced, "Fine. Just for you." We sat on the warm sand just staring at the ocean's beauty. We turned to each other and I asked Daniel, "Do you believe in love at first sight?" Daniel sighed and said, "I didn't believe in it until I met you." Our lips got closer and closer until they touched.
I heard thunder in the distance so I pulled away. "What's wrong?" he asked. I pointed to the lightning bolt and said, "That." It started to rain really hard, and Daniel just replied, "This will only make this day more memorable. Keep kissing me." So, yeah. We were two doofuses kissing in the rain. And that was the best day I had ever lived.
