"If your bus buddy is napping next to you, wake them up."
Leah says in a murmur over the bus' microphone. Probably because most all of us are asleep.
"We're just about to Aspen so pack up and be ready to leave the bus in a few minutes."
We're all from Denver, and we're going to be in Aspen over the weekend. From what all the leaders have told us, it's everything you'd expect from a winter camp. We'll be skiing (which everyone in the state of Colorado knows very well how to do), hiking, and spending time in our Workshops. The Workshops are mini classes that fit most every hobby and talent.
My phone vibrates. How's it going so far? My screen reads. It's from Laurel.
So far so disappointing. Sigh. Wish you were here. Is what I reply with.
"Well, boo boos, it's time for an update." Leah startles me with the abrupt announcement. "So we're here. In Aspen. I need you all awake to pack up because we're obviously here," she laughs and continues, "so you guys do your thing. Oh, if anyone sees any trash around you or in your area at all, I don't care if it's yours or not, throw it away!!"
I continue to stare out my window until we pull up to a large cabin and walk out of the bus, following our leaders.
