This is was originally written for my 9 year old cousin but I figured a should post it on here ( all be it improved slightly) so the girl I like can read whenever she wants... Though that maybe never. This is a short book in a series of books tht I wrote about various war and disputes in a imaginary land full of ogres, trolls, elves, goblins and of course men. Please enjoy
Chapter 1
"The war had raged for long than anyone could of perceived. The humans refused to given in. No matter how many died more took there place. Our army was been worn away by there hit and run tactics. Our heavy troops got bogged down in the marshes and died of the heat in the desserts. The only place we could efficiently use our heavy armour was in the Great Plains, but the sheer numbers of the humans overwh-." The young admiral KLim was cut short by a indisputable "SILENCE". Though it wasn't the way it was shouted that made it undisputed nor the fact that noone wanted admiral Klim to stop talking but it was the man who said it. The all powerful Lord commander Forger. He was the lead general in the conquest of the kingdoms. He controlled the troll army and had the emperor as his puppet. So when he gave a command for silence (which he often did) it was undisputedly undisputed. "You have yet to tell me admiral why have the great troll empire, the crusher of the 7 capitals of Raelk, the liberators of Sirma, have been brought so low to our knees that we must ask for terms from the pitiful excuse of A race man. So tell me Klim, nice and simply, why are we not in control of there land?" Spat the great Lord Forger. "We burnt there cities to the ground. We defiled there women. We slaughtered the weak, the old, the women and the children in there thousands. We massacred there livest-." The Klim said panic edging into him voice. "Klim why have we agreed to terms." The great commander commanded.
"We can't win this war. That's the truth sir but neither can they... We've reached a impass. A stalemate if you will." Spluttered Klim shame etched into every line on his face.
The room had gone silent except the steady breath of half a dozen ogres. Which would of been loud in a fair pact crowed but now seemed like a brain pounding barrage of noise. It was the shrewd admiral shar who broke the silence in the end. "If I may my lord." All eyes focused on him. "Humans are brave and fearless when the follow some1 who is brave and fearless, but when followed by someone who is weak and frail they wither and crumble. So perhaps." Confidence was growing steadily in his voice. "If we put the right people in place during this 'truce' we may be able to successfully eliminate them without the use of our armed forces. Think of it as a victory in the guise of a defeat. We must remember also there neighbours will want to prove they are our peers by defeating a nation that we could not, thus weakening themselves and the humans." He was now on his feet a huge smile adorning his face confidence oozing out of his voice.
The halls filled with Forgers laughter of joy.
