Dear Abby,
Where are you? They won't let me see you, even though my injuries aren't serious. I'm going to live, but I have to be careful for a while. I'm not sure what happened. My memory's kinda hazy. Were you there? I think you were, but I'm not sure. My cuts still kinda hurt when I move, but it's no big deal. They let me go for a walk today, in the gardens outside. I watched the fish in the pond and chatted with a girl called Sophie. She's getting discharged tomorrow, because her operation was a success.
A nurse has just come into my room with my dinner. I'll ask her when I can see you.
She's looking at me strangely. I can't tell what she's thinking. If only you were here. You're ace at reading people.
Something's going on, Abby. The nurse said I can't see you. She just sat down on the chair by the bed. Did something happen to you? Are you okay?
Abby? Oh my God. Abby, you're okay, right? Please tell me you're okay. You were there, weren't you? Did you- did the same thing that happened to me happen to you? Abby. Please. Tell me you're alright. I can't lose you. I can't lose you, Abby! Please tell me what's going on. Please be okay, Abby. I don't know what I'll do if something's happened to you.
I-I think I'm going to be sick, Abby. Something's happened. I know it. I can feel it. You have to be okay. You have to. I need you. Mum needs you.
No. It can't be true. There must be some sort of mistake. The nurse said- the nurse said that-
Oh my God, Abby. No. Please, no.
