I Wait

Soft as cotton cradling a child,
I have a bed of peace.
The peace before the storm,
The quiet in the end.
I wait for the lurking shadow,
The sight that shall be my last.
I wait for Death.

My life was useless
Nothing ever happened to me.
I was average, just another
Ordinary girl.
I came and went,
And with every day spent,
Not a soul remembered me.

I wait until I see
Only darkness and me.
Unobserved, this world I leave,
No one in my life to miss me.
No one saw me cry, saw me bleed,
Nobody noticed me.
At least Death,
Remembers me.

So now I lie,
On a cloud in the sky,
Only moments before I die,
Only moments...before..I die...
