flamepaw and nightpaw were out on a border patrol with their mentors and as they waled and chated alittle the to warriors suddenly stopped making them walk in to them, as they did flamepaw growled annoyed meowing "hey why did you stop all of a sudden?" . The warrirs dident say anything and the two apprintenceses looked at echother to see what was wrong, at first they loked at their chocked mentors then they looked infront of them to look at the thunder path to see a very familiar grey fured body, flamepaws eyes widened as she saw stormpaws bloody body laying there not breathing. whitout thinking she and nightpaw ran up to their friends cold unmoving body the two dragged her body of the thunder path with the help of their mentors as they tried to hold back tears. as they were carrying the body back t the camp shellblaze turned to flamepaw saying "flamepaw you should tell him about stormpaw" she stared at him with a questioning look meowing "why should i tell him?", shellblaze looked her in the eyes saying "flamepaw your the cat next to his sister that he knows the best as well as trust, and while you do that i will tell their parents", she nodded sadly feeling bad for flintpaw. as they entered the camp alot of gasps could be heard from the schocked cats in the camp, as they placed the body in the middle of the camp ashstar walked out of his den and walked up to shellblaze asking "what happened to her" the brown tom looked at the grey leader saying "she was hit by a monster, we found her on the thunder path like that" as he continued to talk to the clan leader flamepaw walked in to the apprintence den to see if she could find flintpaw in there and sure enugh he was sleeping in his nest, she walked up to him pawng his side and he mumbled tiredly "go away" she sighed looking at him and said "wake up i need to tell you something" he wined a little at first before sitting up saying "i have something to tell you" the smaller apprintence nodded sleepily leaning against her, "while me nightpaw shellblaze and fallengaze were out on border patrol we found something" she paused lookinig at him as he asked "what did you find?" she waited a little before saying "we found stormpaw" he looked at her confused saying "whats so special about that?" she looked him in the eyes sayin "she had been hit by a monster and by the time that we had found her she was already dead" as she finished talking he was staring at her with wide eyes and he shook his head eyes filling with tears and said "n-no she cant be dead i saw her just at sunhigh" she looked at him as tears started to stream down his face and she put her tail around him trying to comfort him. later that nigh when flaepaw was sleeping she felt someone poke her in the side, she sleepily sat up saying "what" while looking around confused, when she saw that flintpaw was sitting next to her she meowed "why are you still up?" he looked at the ground shuffling his paws saying "i couldent sleep, can i sleep with you just for tonight?" he asked, she tought for a moment before nodding making room for him in her nest, he laied down next to her starting to fall asleep and she put her tail around him.
