I wake up happy happy happy.
only because today is my birthday.
October 5th 1997
I'm turning 18.
I go downstairs expecting there to be breakfast made and presents like last year. but there was nothing.
I go sit at the kitchen counter with watermelon chunks.
deedee and Ana and Taylor an Daniel all walk in.
"hey"
"hi"
"heyo"
"hiya"
they all see and they all grab bottles of water.
"hello" I say not sounding happy.
"what's wrong?" deedee says.
"lol nothing"
"I'm gonna go back to sleep"
I go back upstairs and see shawn sleeping on the bed.
I go lay down and I rest my head on his chest.
"what's going on" he says with a raspy voice.
"oh sexy" I say giggling.
"nothing. it's just.. is it bad if your sister forgets your birthday?
He jumps up and says
"it's your birthday!?"
"yes."
"let's go somewhere"
"no. all my birthday spirit is gone"
"awe babe no I'm sorry. I was never informed when it was."
"you and Taylor and Daniel all have valid excuses but Ana and deedee don't."
"I'll go tell them."
"don't please"
He crawls over to me and cuddles me in.
"this is where my happiness will remain."
"no I feel bad I need you happy."
"it's okay."
"we're gonna do something."
"like.. go out for icecream actually stay here"

"where are you going?"
"nowhere baby just go back to sleep I'll be up here in a bit"
"okay" he says looking sad. it's makes my heart melt.
I go to the dresser and I put on black sweatpants and a Columbia sweater. I take my phone and my keys and I go downstairs.
"two separate cars let's go."
"what do you mean"
"ANA TAKE YOUR CAR IM TAKING MINE LETS GO LETS GO DAMMIT"
"why do you have to be rude"
"because you guys forgot Chris's birthday" I say looking at deedee and ana.
there shoulders drop and they get ready. we make it to Walmart and we all go our separate ways.
first I buy him new moccasins. 5 phone cases and 3 different colored long sleeve shirts. (my size since he loves them) I buy him new colorful boxer briefs because that ass is A1 and last I buy him a customized necklace with mine and his initials on it.
I meet up with deedee and Ana and Taylor and Daniel and they all have quite a few things.
we check out and get on our way back to the house.
When we get home we wrapped the presents and figured out that all together he has 30 new presents coming his way. I hear someone walking down the stairs and I run to the middle and see Chris.
"hi baby" he says with a tired raspy voice rubbing his left eye.
"chris go back upstairs"
"why?"
"please"
"ugh" he stomped upstairs and closed his door. we decide that when dinner comes we will order dominos.
*5 hours later*
"CHRIS"
"yeah yeah I'm co-"

"what the hell is this"
"those are yours" Ana's says walking out and deedee with her.
"we're really sorry we forgot. we've just been busy and we're just really sorry."
"it's okay" Chris says running to them and hugging them.
*chris p. o. v*
I start opening the presents because they were forcing me too.
one of the things deedee got me was a box of condoms. Ana got me handcuffs.. thinking she was slick.
and shawn got me 3 long sleeved shirts.
"I really don't wanna open anymore I'm hungry can I open them tomorrow?"
"wait" shawn says grabbing a little preset handing it to me.
*shawns p. o. v*
I hand him the little box and I watch him frown.
"open it baby boy"
he wrips off the wrapping paper and he puts a hand over his mouth. I smile. his eyes start water and he looks at me. he looks back down and a tear falls. I stand up and I feel like he's satisfied. he stands up and runs and jumps into my arms.
"I'm so happy to have you shawn you have no idea." he whispers in my ear and I feel his tears fall down my neck.

a necklace with our initials. best gift I've ever received.
