"Nice", the god said feeling a grin stretch along his cracked lips. This was the first time he had intervened in the human world and despite it being forbidden, the act in itself felt like pure energy rushing through his body. A laugh bubbled up and escaped his throat wetly echoing off the damp air around him. His golden eyes gazed down past his hovering feet and continued exactly 467,098 miles below him to rest on the collapsed form of the boy as he shuddered through his last breath and went still. Silence threaded throughout the grasslands and mountains. The plant life around the body slowly started to inch towards the child's exposed skin until the only indication of a human left was a single eyelash peeking between the leaves. Twitch. Just as soon as they engulfed the body, one by one, leaf after leaf, each withered and turned grey as their life energy was bled from them. Brightly burning hazel eyes appeared from the dead ash now blanketing the soil. Satisfied, Fathom watched as his creation crawled from the now damp earth and drew it's first immortal breath.
