I started sensing the glances sent my direction from Kai and Lorenzo as the night progressed. Kai, looking a bit worried, and Lorenzo amused. His lips were tilted up into a cocky smirk, one I wanted to wipe right off. I didn't know what they were discussing, but I knew my name had come up. I continued wiping the glass in my hand, glancing up at the clock to see I only had a hour left until the end of my shift. Relief flooded through me. I could go home and relax after standing for several hours.
"You know what Less? You're a lucky little shit. I took Kara's shift as well so I'll be working till closing." Stella mumbles, as she pours another guy a drink. "I just want to go home and sleep, and I still have six more hours. Not to mention I'll probably have to close."
"Aww, my poor Stella. I'm sure I will remember you as I'm laying on my nice, comfortable bed." I coo. Stella's face contorts in annoyance, and I flash her a smile. "You know if you wanted shorter hours you should of been a cook like Max. You wouldn't have to worry about double shifts since the kitchen is only open till midnight."
"True, but that's still long normal shifts Alessandra. On the bright side though, I don't have anything else I could really be doing besides binge watching television shows."
I laugh. "I think that's better than serving alcohol all night Stella." She nods in agreement before excusing herself to help out with another customer.
I see Scott walk through the doors, only to stop slightly when he sees Kai. I could visibly see him gulp in fear, laughter building up in my chest. He slowly walked to the back door but stopped when he saw me standing there.
"Why's Kai here? Did something happen? Is he here to fire me? Oh god, am I getting fired? I swore I would work harder. I haven't dro-"
"Scott, he's not here to fire you." I intercept Scott's ramble. Relief flashed in his eyes and his shoulders visually sagged. "None of us really know why he's here. Guess the guy he's talking to must be a VIP customer, but I've never seen him in my life. Have you?"
"No, I haven't. I'll hurry up and get ready so you can go home." He glanced over to where Kai was sitting with Lorenzo. "Oh and thanks Alessandra. I really still need this job." The back door swung behind him as he went the back, almost hitting Stella. Scott was a bit clumsy and dangerous to be around sometimes.
I head back over to where Kai was still sitting. "Kai, Scott's here so I'm taking off, see you next time."
"Oh, I didn't realize the time. Aren't you covering for Kara tonight though?" He asks hurriedly. I give him a weird look and shake my head.
"Stella's taking it." I glance at Lorenzo, "It was interesting meeting you Lorenzo. Hope you get that stick removed." Lorenzo's previous smirk drops a bit and my subconscious performs a small victory dance in my head for taking his ego down a notch. "I'm off." Walking away fast, it takes no time at all to throw off my apron, take my tips, and leave Kai's Bar for the night.

I arrived at my apartment shortly. The outside light was flickering ever so slightly, just like in all the creepy horror movies I watched as a small child. Opening up the door, I walked up the stairs to my apartment, groaning as I reached my door. I threw my coat onto the chair in my kitchen and flicked on the lights, illuminating the living room. Then I screamed. Not literally, but internally I did as I saw the mess that was my couch, desk, and coffee table. My papers were scattered throughout the room, furniture overturned, and for some odd reason my mattress was strewn across the back of my couch. I wanted to cry so bad, but instead I slumped to the bathroom, ignoring the products spilled all over the floor. I brushed my teeth and stripped out of my clothing before hopping in the shower. 'I'm not going to be able to clean all this crap up tonight, might as well wait for tomorrow.' I thought while washing my hair.
Getting out, I quickly dry off and just thrown on some panties and a long, extra big shirt. I sauntered back into the living room and throw the bed off the couch and onto the floor, laying down. My mind quickly drifted off, dreaming of Lorenzo's creepy stare and smirk combo.
Okay... This chapter's ending sucks but I am very busy at the moment with SATs and softball. Plus I just hate this chapter. Comment, Vote, leave some love, motivation, anything you'd like and the next chapter will be up before you know it.
