The girl is basically just afraid of having real feelings therefore she only has meaningless sex while the boy wants it to be special and have meaning so he tries to get she to open up just for her to unintentionally hurt him in the process. He falls in love with her and she starts catching feelings but tries to stop herself before she lets him get too close yet he knows more about her than she does about herself.
