Platnum Briant Jr.

I walked along the beach shore with my two bags packed. It's probably not long before the sun set's in, and the cold night air breezes through. I have to find a place to sleep the night and fast. I walked up to the boardwalks and sat down. I really need to find a place to stay, but I don't know where to look anymore.

You see, I just came out of jail after 6 years for attempted murder. But before you start judging me, hear me out because I'm innocent...sort of.

It all began when I came home from school after graduation. I wasn't the star athlete of a basketball or football team. But I was pretty good at track and field. All I needed was a chance. But of course, things didn't turn out how I wanted it to.

After my friend Jamir dropped me home from graduation, I walked up to my door and rung the doorbell.
I knew my mother or stepfather was home because one of their cars was still in the driveway.

At least they could have come to my graduation. I thought as I rung the bell again.

" The fuck are they doing taking so long?" I said ringing it again.

...
...
...

I gave up waiting and sucked my teeth while pulling out my flip phone. I dialed my mom's number and sat down on the step.

"Ma'?"

"Yes JJ, I'm in the middle of a meeting."

"I'm sorry, but I can't get into the house."

"What do you mean? Don't you have a key Jj?"

"Yeah about that...I can't really find it. BUT WAIT! I think Damien's home, both of his cars are in the driveway."

She paused"...what do you mean both of his cars are in the driveway? Damien is at work...he just texted me like three minutes ago. Check to see if the lights are on in the kitchen."She said sighing.

I got up and walked to the side looking in the window." They look like they're off.." I said as she spoke up.

"I'll call you back baby, I gotta go," she said hanging up.

I sighed and looked up to the sky frustrated."Wow." I'm gonna starve out here.

I looked up to my parent's room window then saw a light. I scrunched up my face then got up. I looked up again and it was off. I knew Damien was home, but at least he could have opened the door when I rung the bell.

I shook my head and walked to the side of the house, where my room was."I guess I'm just gonna have to climb up, again".
I always come in this way when I'm out with my boyfriend or see my friends.

I grabbed onto the large white pipe and climbed up swiftly. Once I reached the top I closed my eyes and felt for the balcony railing. If you haven't figured it out now, I'm afraid of heights, like really scared of them.

My hand hit the railing just as my legs got wobbly. I kicked my feet up from the wall and pulled myself up and over the railing falling on my ass. I exhaled a breath of relief and crawled to my sliding door.

"Finally!" I said as I fell on my bed. I instantly pulled off my clothes getting naked. Don't ask why because I have no reason why I just like to be naked...in my room or if I'm home alone or sum'.

I walked over to the A/C and turned it on while standing under it. I thew my head back and sighed heavily." Thank god for central air."
I thought as I heard someone scream.

"What the fuck was that?" I said as I walked to my drawer pulling out boxers.

I walked to my door opening it and stepped into the hall. All the lights were off out here too, but I saw a light in my parent's room. I walked towards it and contemplated knocking on the door, but shook my head.
But just as I was about to walk off, I heard a grunt and a moan.

Now I know I ain't hearing shit.

I know when someBODY is fuckin and when someONE is jackin. Cuz I do both of em'.

I put my ear to the door and listened." Yup, he fuckin somebody" I said opening the door.

He looked like he was just about done"Well look here!"
I shouted while smiling. This nigga didn't even jump. But if he thinks he walking out of here without a fight, he's wrong.

"I thought I locked your ass out Jj."

"I found my way in," I said as I eyed the hoe as she covered herself.
"Your the dumbest bitch in the world, you know that right? My ma's gon kill your ass when she finds all this shit out."

"and what makes you think she'd believe you? Your bipolar Jj."

He said going back into the bed and cuddling up with the woman. I couldn't move from my spot I was standing in.

I could feel my heart starting to hammer away in my chest.

"No, no, no, no, no.......I'm not crazy...."I started shaking my head and balling my fists" my ma' told me I'm not crazy,.... you shouldn't call me crazy." I said as my eyes blurred, then he started laughing.

My eyes widened as my last sanity slipped away. I snapped.
I screamed and ran towards him.

I punched his jaw jaws repeatedly as my hands and nails sank into his throat.

I could hear that he was punching my stomach, but I couldn't feel anything. But then I saw blackness for a few seconds. I looked to the back of me and saw the woman with a piece of a broomstick in her hands. I latched onto Damien's neck harder and moved towards her. I could feel him struggling to breathe, but I didn't care. He called me crazy.

The woman dropped the phone from her hands and threw half of the broomstick at my chest.

I let go of Damien and ran after her. She ran towards the stairs in escape for the doors but I stopped her by pulling her hair.

"No! You're leaving him!" I said as I pushed her head and turned around looking for Damien.

I ran back to the room and drug him out towards the woman. But she wasn't there anymore. I looked downstairs and found her passed out downstairs with blood puddling around her head.

I breathed heavily and cried as police lights flashed filled the house."I didn't mean to do it!" I said as the front door opened.

I rushed downstairs towards the police but the man shot me in my shoulder.

I slowly fell to the ground and blacked out.

That's all I remembered until I had to go do all that interrogation and got sent to jail and the mental facility. I don't know...I guess it's really my fault. But I couldn't control it. That's probably why I'm out here right now.

But they might as well kept me in jail because I don't have anywhere to go. These four hundred dollars could barely get me a room out here.

I sighed and laid back on the sand. I wonder if Jamir still has his number? I'd just try to call in the morning.

It's just a matter of waiting now I guess.
