Arthur's POV

Pain.... that's all I felt at this moment. My white and orangish ears laying flat on my skull as I hear the sounds of the truck. "Why... why me..." I thought to myself as I trembled. I opened one forest green eye and looked at the others caught in cages. Nekos, Werewolves, Nagas, even some humans were in these inhumane cages. I saw young kits huddling close to their mothers. Young Naga girls huddling to their mates. Humans looking frightend at the others. I slowly sat up and rubbed my head. A naga male beside me looked curious. He must have been a hatchling judging by his size. Barely a six months old.

"Wh-where are they taking us?" He hissed nervously.

"To an auction I assume," i answer as I look at the child. He has blonde hair and bluish eyes.

"My name's Peter," he says with a smile.

I give a smile back at his innocence, "I'm Arthur," i say.

Then the truck stops.

I growled as my cage was wheeled up on the stage. I hissed at the auction guy. I looked at the many well dressed and masked faces.

"This neko is a Scottish Fold breed, hence why his ears are like that of a werewolf's. He has an attitude and can't cook to save his life. But he is a virgin and can carry up to five children at a time. Bidding starts at three hundred."

Immediately, three hands shot up, this went on for ten minutes.

"Three thousand going once... three thousand going twice..."

"Five thousand," i heard a rather bored voice say. This one wasn't bidding before and all of a sudden jumped two thousand!? What the hell was this guy thinking!?

"Sold to the man with the polar bear!" The auctioneer said in a frightened tone.

The man walked up to the stage, his mask a blood red color, along with the suit he was wearing. His dirty blonde hair was tied in a low ponytail. He unlocked the cage and picked me up.

I heard screaming soon after. I smelt smoke. I panicked slightly but my new owner kept a firm but gentle grip on me. I whimpered in fear and closed my eyes. I passed out.

When i awoke i was laying on a soft bed. I slowly sat up and looked around the new room. The room had a lush emerald carpet and silk curtains hung from the window. The bed had black drapes around it, meant for privacy i suppose. The blankets were a dark green with bright green embroidery. I layed back down and curled up into the feather pillows.

"I'm glad you like your room," i heard a soft female voice say. I yelped and jumped.

I looked over at the brunette neko, her ears were the same shade of chocolate brown as her hair and eyes with the tips being white. Her tail, sticking out of the back of her midnight blue dress, was pure white. "Wh-who are you?" I asked.

She smiled kindly, "i am Alex, the mistress of this castle. My mate brought you here. I healed you," she said.

I looked at my body, i was only clad in a pair of silk green boxers. I blush slightly, thinking someone had seen me this way. My eyes widened when i noticed my bruises and cuts were gone. Only scars remained. "H-how did you..."

"Magic, this place is filled with it. Not just the house, but the forest as well," she said.

I looked at her and stood slowly. She was shorter than me, "are you my new owner?" I asked.

She gave a light laugh. I tilted my head in confusion. "Here you belong only to yourself. All i ask is you help occasionally with chores. But I'll explain the rules later. For now just follow these, don't curse in front of Oliver, don't taunt Kuma, and ask before eating anything, especially Oliver's cupcakes."

I nod and smile a little, "s-so other than that i can do as i please?"

"Yes, also, try not to start fights," she says happily.

I nod, "ok." My stomach growls loudly.

She raises an eyebrow, her eyes sparkle with amusement. "Here, get dressed," a stack of clothes appear in her hands, "then we'll get you something to eat, i believe my mate and Matthew are making breakfast," she says as she walks to the kitchen.

After dressing in the simple tan dress pants and light green dress shirt, I follow her, looking at the extravagant house. Most of the walls are painted a simple white color, and each door is a different color. The kitchen is a sky blue with checkered tiles. The cabinets are a mahogany wood. Two men stood at the oven making what i assumed to be pancakes. Both were wearing jeans and a hooded sweatshirt. The one with the ponytail was wearing a read one while the one holding what seemed to be a stuffed bear had on a white one. Both had different shades of blonde hair and a strange curl. Alex walked up behind the one in red and hugged him. The male gave a smile and turned in her arms. I could tell by the look on the other male's face that his counterpart didn't smile often.

"Good morning beautiful," the man said as he kissed the top of Alex's head.

She smiled and kissed his cheek, "morning love," she said happily.

He looked at me, "seems our little sleeping beauty is finally awoken," he says as he walks over to me. His dark violet eyes boring into mine. I shrank back under his gaze. His look softened a bit, "sorry, didn't mean to frighten you," he says as he takes a step back.

I relax, "it's ok," i say as i look at him.

The other male smiles, "you'll have to forgive my cousin, the only person he really likes is Alex. He has a hard time showing how he feels," his voice was barely above a whisper. I noticed he was a neko as well, his ears were a light blonde, like his hair, and his tail an almost white color. "My name is Matthew, this is Kumajiro," he said as he set the bear on the floor. It looked up at me, "who are you?" It said with a cute voice.

"I'm Arthur, Arthur Kirkland," i say as i look at the bear. It nodded and walked back to Matthew.

"I'm Matt," the other male said as he stretched a bit.

"You'll meet the others soon enough, speaking of which, i better go wake them," Alex says as she heads back down the hall we came from.

I bite my lip, unsure of what to do.

Matthew smiles kindly, "would you like a tour? I'd be happy to show you around," he says.

I nod, "ok," i say as i smile.

He unties the black apron he's wearing and hangs it on a hook on a pantry door. His bear follows close behind hin as he shows me around the large house.

There are three floors plus an attic and a basement. The attic is used for storage while the basement is more of an entertainment room. Several flat screen tvs with various gaming systems hooked up to them line two of the walls. A few sofas and chairs are in front of these tvs. Two pool tables, an air hockey table, a foosball table and a large table with various movies and board games take up the other half of the room. "This is where we hang out most of the time," he says as he smiles.

I nod as i look around. Next he shows me the backyard, my first impression was how big it was. A soccer field was set up on the east part of the yard while a large frozen over lake was to the north. To the west was a large swing set for twelve. A pool was in the center. "We also come out here as well. The house itself provides everything we want and need. And what the house can't provide the forest does."

"You say that as if they are living beings."

"They are, in a way," he says, "you see, when Alex was given this house she put a spell over it so that it would always provide for those inside. She also made it to where no one could find this place unless brought here by someone who lived within. The house and forest protect us while Alex cares for us and shows us love," he says.

I smile softly, "sounds like something out of a fairy tale."

"It is, welcome to the Safehouse."
