(A/N: sorry this is a short chapter. I will update soon. Thank you again for reading :) )

"Why are you still up at this hour?" His father's low voice asked. It still startled Ryan how much Clark sounded like him.

"I, um, couldn't sleep."

"Go to bed."

Ryan looked up at his dad, his eyes pleading. He just wanted a little affection. A hug, or at least a smile if anything. His father's eyes were cold and un inviting. Ryan sighed, nodding his head. "Er, O-Okay." He said, looking down as he headed towards his room.

"Ryan." Scott called.

Ryan stopped in his tracks, closing his eyes in excitement.

"Yes, Dad?" He asked, turning around.

"Don't stutter when you speak." Scott headed off towards his room, leaving Ryan by himself. Ryan couldn't believe it. He wiped his eyes, the tears getting caught in his throat. He ran up to his room, burying his face in his pillow. He tried to stop it, but he couldn't. His father didn't care about him. He had tried to convince himself time after time that his dad was just going through a tough time due to his mom's passing, but he couldn't keep forcing himself to believe something that was clearly not true. Ryan could still remember the days were his dad would come home and hug him, lifting him in the air and telling him how happy he was to see him. He sobbed, hugging his pillow tighter. He had never felt lonelier in his life. Ryan sat up, heading over to his dresser. He picked up one of the many pictures placed on the counter, rubbing the edges with his thumb.

"Why'd you have to leave me?" He asked, starring down at a picture of his happy mom before she had died. The tears streamed down his face, dripping onto the floor. "Why'd you have to go?" He said quietly, his voice cracking. He sat back down on his bed, putting his face into his hands. When did his life take a turn for the worse? He laid back, clutching the picture of his mom. He didn't know when, but eventually he fell asleep.
