GOOD TO KNOW: I don't speak English as my native language, so I'm really sorry if I made some mistakes. Please be patient.
I don't own anything connected to Harry Potter. The story is written by me, but the characters and everything connected to Harry Potter series is owned by J.K. Rowling.
CHAPTER I - SOMETHING SMELLY
Lily Evans watched the dust floating around the warm sunny air. She had caught herself staring into the emptiness, with no speacial thought on her head. Watching the dust floating was relaxing, and Lily felt almost sleepy. She covered her mouth with her hand and yawned. Lily had decided to give the final touch up to her essay. She scooped some cereals in her mouth and chewed slowly. She twiddled her quill and started to think, but when the thought started to build up in her head, she felt a sudden touch on her shoulder.
Lily turned around and saw Marcus Grindley's face. She couldn't help feeling disappointed. Marcus was a student from Hufflepuff who had asked her out a couple of days ago, and Lily had said yes. Their date had been quite dull. Lily felt that they had nothing in common, but apparently Marcus felt differently - he had been after Lily ever since their date. Lily found it quite stressful. She felt a little sorry for Marcus - the boy didn't notice that there was no interest.
- Hi, Lily, said Marcus. By his acting Lily guessed that he had something to ask, and deep down in her mind she hoped that Marcus wasn't going to suggest another date. Lily knew she had to do something to stop it.
- Hi, Marcus, she said and tried to ignore the bird sound James Potter and his "gang" made behind them. James Potter had been teasing Marcus since the transfiguration class. The teacher had gave instructions to the whole class, and they were all trying to transfigurate their dessert bowls into a tortoise. Apparently Marcus did something wrong, because after his spell his hands started to grow huge feathers. James and his friends were choking on their laughters and Marcus earned the nickname Birdie. They hid a dungbomb on the corridor, and after a little "accident" nobody could sit next to Marcus because of the terrible smell.
- What's up? Good? Lily tattled, not giving Marcus a chance to talk. She didn't want to hear the question coming.
- Me? Huh? Good. Umh..., Marcus started uncertainly, but Lily noticed something that could save her. Fortunately Marcus was slow at talking, so she jumped up and whooped:
- Owls!
Lily knew her acting was a bit stupid, like she had never seen an owl before. She wasn't expecting anything special, she knew that her Daily Prophet would arrive every day. Lily pretended to be busy and ignored Marcus. From the corner of her eye she saw Marcus slowly walking away.
An owl dropped a Daily Prophet to the table and Lily grabbed and opened it in case Marcus was still watching. Then she heard another voice.
- Couldn't stand the Dungbomb anymore? I know he stinks, James Potter whispered to her ear. Dungbomb was Marcus' another nickname he had invented. Lily turned around and made sure James saw her grumpy face before answering.
- He's name is Marcus, you stinky troll! She sizzled and grabbed the cereal box. James grinned.
- Yeah well I know anyone can beat Snivellus' company, but isn't that a bit low? I mean, even compared to Snivellus? Well of course he doesn't mind if you smell like a dungbomb, he's used to bad hygiene, right? James mocked and grinned even more. Lily smashed the cereal box back to the table and dropped her spoon. Little milky drops splattered everywhere.
- You don't have a clue, don't you? I would really like to stay and chat with you a little more, but wait, you're an idiot. Listen to me: I loathe your company. So do me a favor and go back to your mates, the kind of company you truly deserve, Lily almost yelled. James laughed and turned to his mates.
- Hear that, fellas? Evans is aggressively defending the Birdie. What do you think, is it true love? James yelled and his mates broke into laugh. James turned back to Lily.
- ..You know how it goes, Evans. It's so sweet that you can ignore all the mistakes. Who knows, one day you will wake up next to a nice fluffy bird! James laughed. Lily pulled her face against James', only a few inches away. She stared angrily for a second, then she rose up, packed her belongings and walked away. She heard James and his mates making bird noises until she climbed to the stairs.
