Your stories (obviously) decide your popularity on wattpad. If you don't have a solid story on wattpad, you probably will go unnoticed.

Here's what you need to know about stories on wattpad.

The topic is everything. It is ultimately how your story will be discovered (without trying) through the magic of tagging. The most commonly searched tags are along the lines of One Direction and Justin Bieber

If you do not write about either of these topics, don't fret. Your stories can stil be discovered through more magic.

Again, tagging is still one way to get your story out there without putting in too much effort. If you're writing a story that happens to be a fan fiction, sometimes time will get your story more read.

Another way to get your story out there is through clubs. If you don't know how to get to the club page, you should probably follow these steps. First you're going to want to get on a computer. I have yet to figure out how to reach clubs through the wattpad app, so it's probably your best bet to use a computer instead. Simply go to community and click clubs banner. Do some digging around and try to find a club where a single reader or group of readers are looking for good stories to read. There, you can post your story and get a couple more reads.

If those two don't work, I'd politely ask other struggling writers to check out your work. You can work out deals with them such as the "read for a read". You never know if you can pick up a following through something like that.

And if none of these methods work, I suggest to keep writing. Although your story does not pick up a following straight away, it does not mean that it will never be read or liked by anyone. Keep in mind that most stories don't gain instant popularity. It took me three months to get things going on my stories and it took even longer to get a larger following.

You're all going to start off with next to nothing (if not nothing). Don't fret! Keep writing and keep doing what you want no matter what!

Someone is bound to read your story at some point so I HIGHLY SUGGEST BEING PATIENT.

PATIENCE IS KEY HERE. I know it's going to be suckish only having double digit reads, but I promise I can promise this to you: If you keep trying, you're most likely going to be noticed at some point.

So if you are feeling disheartened because of slow moving business and lack of followers, don't worry. Just keep trying and keep pitching ideas until one hits home!
