||Frankie's POV||

Yesterday wasn't a good day for anyone. We lost Aiden and Noah, Tara got injured, Glenn's a mess because of it, the Monroe's aren't taking it so well either, I think Rick is planning something against Pete, and I may have rejected Ron.

So, today's just one of those days where I need to go out and clear my head. But when I try to sneak out of the house, Glenn notices and stops me.

"Where are you going?"

"Out."

"Why?"

"I need to clear my head."

He doesn't question me anymore. I don't know if he knows I'm going over the wall, or if he just doesn't feel like stopping me.

I walk out the door, and run behind the houses and to my usual spot where I leave at. I climb up and over the wall. I don't really feel like running that much today.

Maybe Ron was right about Glenn's group. Things have changed, even if the changes are barely noticeable, they're there.

Nicholas wants them gone, but if they go, then I go too. I'm not letting my brother be blamed for something like this. Aiden and Nicholas were both cowards. It's not fair.

Ron and I haven't spoke since what happened yesterday. I've not really talked to anyone. I feel terrible about it, but I couldn't help it. I don't see Ron anything more but a friend. That may change sometime in the future, but for now, it's staying the same.

I walk around aimlessly for a few more minutes until I hear someone behind me. Quietly, I hide behind a tree and rest a hand on the handle of my knife.

Once the person is in front of the tree I'm behind, I recognize the sheriff's hat. It's Carl.

I remove my hand from the knife and let it fall freely down at my side. I'm actually curious to why he's out here.

"What are you doing out here?" I ask causing him to turn around. I come out from behind the tree and fold my arms over my chest.

"You're following me again. Aren't you?"

His cheeks turn a slight shade of pink. "Again? Y-You mean you knew about the first time?"

"Yeah, you're not very quiet."

"You shouldn't sneak out by yourself. Two people just died."

"I know that. But you shouldn't be out here either." I tell him, my arms still folded.

"We should go back."

I stare at him blankly. "What do you do out here anyways?"

I shrug. "I think."

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to continue doing what I was doing before being interrupted."

I start walking towards my tree. The sound of footsteps lets me know that Carl is trailing behind me.

People must not know when someone wants to be alone.

"You seem upset." He says once he's caught up to me.

We've reached the tree. I sit down against it and he does the same. Again with the wanting to be alone thing.

"Not like two people just died or anything, or Nicholas is trying to get my brother thrown out."

Carl doesn't respond, instead he picks up a twig off the ground and twirls it.

We sit in silence for a minute or two until he speaks up.
