The dialer tune could have been much better.

But this thing had a terrible effect on me

♫ ♪

“I got my first real six-string

bought it at the five-and-dime

Played 'til my fingers bled

it was summer of '69 “

 ♫ ♪

It kept repeating … Until,

“Hello!” said a stern vice on the receiver’s end

“Hello, uncle?” said I... Hesitantly

“who’s it?”

“Uncle... Yash here...Mumbai…”

“OH! So what reminded you of me?”

This is the question which I was eagerly not waiting for... This was something ... I didn’t want to answer... this is the sentence... This made me cold... My hands colder...

And my voice froze!

“Yash?”

“Ji mama!”

“So  ... how’re you doing?”

“I am fine Ji... Satisfied!”

He scoffed, “that’s all you need to be sonny boy … “

“How’s aunty?”

“She’s fine... And is at her school ...” Said he in a lowered tone...

I could imagine what the situation might be...

And didn’t ask further …

Somehow the conversation came to an end!

And after disconnecting the call... I felt out of this world!

That feeling... That feeling! It was heavenly...

I somehow didn’t like my escape from Jaipur, from a different pattern of studies, a different pattern of everything!

But, All I knew was … I belonged here...

I belonged to Mumbai... And could never escape it!

Searching a school here wasn’t a pretty hard job!

I always knew which school I wanted to be in … and the very next day of my return.

I was there …

The principal looked like any other principal. Strict, proud and interrogative!

“Three months since our sessions have started! I’m afraid you will be at a great loss son!”

“I’ll have to manage ma’am! I can’t suffer loss of another day!”
