"It's been two days! I know she's out there somewhere, you need to find her please!!" The officer frowned. She was so convinced that Mae had just ran away, that she wasn't in danger.
"Sir, please. Your girlfriend is fine. She probably just wanted to get away for awhile. She's a young, wild girl, that we both know likes to party. She'll call you - just give her time," Officer Ragen sighed. "Go home, Ryan. Get some rest, don't you guys have finals or something coming up?" How could she expect me to 'get some rest' when my girlfriend was probably out there dead!?
"Yeah, whatever." I walked out of the precinct and got into my car. I was going to find Mae, I had to.
It's been two days since I last saw Mae. Yeah, sure it was usual for her to run off for a couple hours or maybe a night but she always called. She would always tell me she's okay. She was a smart girl, she wouldn't miss finals, hell, she wouldn't even take a sick day off school! This wasn't her, I know it. Just as I was about to start my car, my phone rang. "Daniel" my phone flashed.
"Hey," I said half heartedly
"Bro, what's wrong? You okay?" Daniel asked, actually sounding concerned for once in his life.
"Yeah, I'm okay I guess. I just still haven't heard from Mae. I mean, it's been two days. I'm just worried, that's all."
"Seriously? Dude I'm sorry but your girl can be a real bi-"
"Hey! Don't say that."
"Sorry man, it's true. I mean who just leaves and doesn't tell their boyfriend of two years?"
"That's the thing, I don't think she left...um, on her. On her own?" I tried not to get choked up. Just thinking about Mae being in any danger made me want to throw up. That was my baby. My girl, hell, the girl I wanted to spend my life with.
"What do you mean?" Daniel said suspiciously.
"It's just, I don't know. I have this feeling. It's like, I know she's in trouble and I can't do anything about it."
"Don't be stupid man, nothing bad ever happens in Seattle."
"Yeah, okay I have to go." I hung up before he could say bye. I couldn't talk to him. Why wouldn't anyone believe me. Why did they think she just ran away? She has all these "friends" at school that say they love her but when she goes missing they don't even second guess it? I will not do that to her. I will find Mae.
