“This is exactly what I need!” I said excitedly as I held the flyer close to Jakes face.
“To blind me?” he asked as he opened his locker.
“Read it!”
“Senior Ski Trip at Oakdale Ski resort December 15th to December 20th.” Jake read out loud as I smiled brightly.
“ The moment we’ve been waiting for are entire student career.” I said with a smile.
“So pumped! This is going to be beyond epic…” Jake said.
“And the perfect opportunity to escape Mr. King.” I said with a smirk as Jake looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
“How do you know he’s not going to be a chaperone?” Jake asked as he closed his locker and walked beside me out of school.
“Well everyone knows that chaperones are according to seniority, which means there’s no chance in hell that Spence will be able to ruin my vacation.” I said happily as we got into his car.
“Great, so we get to have the most ancient teachers is school watching over are every move.” Jake said sarcastically as he pulled out of the parking lot.
“Jakey I don’t care as long as Spencer’s not around I’m happy.” I said.
“Well as long as you're happy, I’m happy.” He said.
“So where are we off to now?” he asked and I smiled at him deviously.
“Shopping.” I said with a smirk as he looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
“For what?” he asked.
“Cute ski clothes, duh.” I said and he rolled his eyes in response.
“Why do I have to come along?” he asked painfully.
“Because you have to make up for being a horrible friend.” I said referring to him working with Spence.
“How many times do I have to say I’m sorry!” he said.
“A lot more than that, now lets shop.” I said.
***
It was around 6 p.m when Jake and I walked into my house with bags of clothes in each of our hands.
“What the hell were you 2 doing?” A.J asked as he watched us with wide eyes as we carried the bags into my room.
“Shopping.” I said with a smile.
“Contemplating a murder suicide.” Jake said with anger as he stared at me.
“Hey, not my fault.” I said with a smirk.
“How did you even afford all of that?” A.J asked.
“I was a lifeguard at the community pool for the past 3 summers, I saved my money for something important.” I said.
