Tough Love

~Emily's pov~

My name is Emily and I am a 16 year old abused nerd.Yes I get abused by my mom and the kids at school. My mom has hated me since my dad left me and my mom 6 years ago because he found a prettier and more richer girl. Ever since then my mom blamed me cause I should've never been born. I don't know how it's my fault but I think she needs to take it out on me since I am here. Anyway I am a nerd in school so I keep to my self 100% of the time. I'm not a loner but I would've been if it wasn't for my outgoing loud best friend Celeste. Celeste is a pretty blonde with amazing hair and the perfect body. While I have long wavy brown hair and small curves with a nice butt and a nice chest,still I am no where near beautiful as her though. She is co-captain of the cheer leading team in our school and very popular. I don't even know how we became best friends since our status aren't the same but she sticks with me. Celeste is the only person that knows about what's going on with my mom me and the only reason she hasn't told the police yet is because she wants me to stick up for myself and I kinda sort of threatened her. Celeste is the only person I can trust and be my crazy self.

Right now I am at school under my special tree for lunch just thinking. That's what I always do, I think. It's Wednesday so... Celeste has to sit at her table to talk about practice plans with her team so today I'm left alone. I just finished my lunch since I always get here early before anyone comes so I don't embarrass myself while everyone is there. And that is the last thing I need is embarrassment. I leaned my head back against the tree and closed my eyes. I stayed like that for 1 minute until I feel a presence in front of me. I slowly opened my eyes and saw standing there was the emo

bad boy of our school. Alexander Price...he was standing there looking down at me with a cigarette in his hand. I instantly freeze up and watch him inhale the smoke and blow it out. I slowly stood up not having him out of my sight. I put my head down and looked at my shoe like it was the most interesting thing in the world. "You that nerd chick Emily,right?" He said tossing his cigarette to the ground. Alex was known for kicking some ass and breaking the law so I do not want to get in his bad side or I will end like his other victims, DEAD. I nodded him in answer not wanting him to get angry at me. He handed me a piece of paper and as he did I flinched not knowing what it first was. I took the paper and read it.

Ms.Evergreen

The teachers has decided to have you tutor Mr.Price for the reminder of the school year until he is able to move on to the next year. You are able to stay out if class to tutor him and other needs like it.

After I read the note I was furious. Why couldn't they ask me to tutor someone less dangerous and deadly! I folded the paper up and put it in my pocket. I looked up and saw Alex smirking. I gave him a weak smile and was about to say something until I heard my name called. "Emily!!" I turned around and saw Cece (her nickname) walking towards our direction. When she was by my side she saw that HE was here. "Umm...hi Cece." I said looking down at the grass. "Hi Em, um hello rat." I snapped my head up at her in shock. Why would she call him a rat? I know he is known really badly doesn't mean he should be called names. I looked over at him and he didn't looked shocked by the comment."hey bitch." He said and I just stood there in shock. I never heard anyone call her a bitch. Celeste rolled her eyes and scoffed."okay you little piece of-of,ugh!!" Celeste stomped away waiting for me by the entrance way. I turned towards Alex and saw him smirking at Cece, "look i'll do the tutoring but you have to be nice to cece." I said quietly but loud enough for him to hear. He looked down at me and nodded. I got out a sharpie that I always keep I my back pocket and grabbed his hand. I wrote down my number and put the sharpie back in my pocket. "There's my number so you can call me when you are free to have the tutor sessions. I'm free except on Fridays." I looked down and waited for his answer. "Okay, I'll call you later." He finally said. I waved a quick shy goodbye and walked towards cece. "You okay, gummybear?" I asked in my baby voice. Cece and I always have the cutest or craziest nick names ever! Cece smiled and nodded"yeah pookie bear.",the bell rang and we walked off to our class which was math. Yay! I love math! Cece hated this class so she just sits in the back and harasses me. I don't mind cause its Cece but she sometimes get in trouble and I don't want her to but she does anyway. Cece and I walked to our seats in the back,I always have an empty seat to my left cause no one wants to be by me and they don't like the corner. Cece was telling me about our plans this weekend when I heard somebody sit in the empty seat next to me.Cece stopped talking and glared at the person next to me,I had to turn around and see who it was. The person who sat next to me was alex,he was smiling at me."yeah,I have to sit by you in all our classes and we either go to a different room or we stay in the back of the class." I nodded at this new information, I turned to see Celeste shocked at what he saying. Celeste leaned over to me and whispered "your his new tutor??" I nodded and she gave me a small smile. I turned my attention back to Alex."so what do you want to do?" I asked. He smirked,"well I want to go to the private room to see how comfortable I am in it." I nodded understanding that he might want some privacy of his learning, so I stood up and walked to the front with Alex following behind. I stopped at our teacher Mr.Peterson. "Yes, Ms.Evergreen?" Mr.Peterson said while not looking up. "Um,Alex would like to do his studies in the private room." I said quietly but enough for him to hear. Mr.Peterson handed me two books and some paper of instructions of the lesson. He handed me and Alex a key to the room. "Only you two are allowed to have these and don't lose the keys cause these are the only set. The instructions will tell you everything Emily and I think you can handle everything on your own yes?" He said. We both nodded and walked out the door with whispers from the class. I started heading to the room with Alex right behind me. I don't want to think what he is looking at but I just ignore the feeling that he is staring at my butt and stopped right in front of the door. I unlocked it and stepped in while turning on the light. The room was a nice size and had a couch,a tv,a table with two chairs it looks like a teachers lounge. There is a big window facing my tree that I sit at during lunch so this place is pretty isolated. I heard Alex close and lock the door behind him. I put the stuff down on the table and started to read the directions ignoring whatever Alex was doing."so do we have to study right now or can we get to know each other?" I looked up at him with a confused face. "Well...w-we could t-talk for a while." I said fumbling over my words. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me up to lead me to the couch. He sat down and pulled me with him. I sat down next to him and hugged myself. "Okay,what's your favorite color?" I looked at him and raised my eyebrow to give him the 'are you kidding me' look. He shrugged his shoulders and I said "black and purple,how about you?" He tapped his chin,"well, I like black and blue." I smiled and started to play with my fingers. "You have a boyfriend?" My eyes widen at that question. Why would he like to know,I never had a boyfriend in my miserable life. I shook my head no,and looked down at my hands. "Are you serious? You are too beautiful not to have one." I snapped my head up to look at him to see if he was serious. When I looked at him he looked dead serious. I shook my head,"I'm not beautiful at all but thanks for being nice anyway." I looked back down and felt Alex hug me. I didn't know what to do so I just hugged him back. "If you tell anyone that I have gone smushy and hugged you I will deny it all and tell everyone that your crazy." He whispered in my ear. Way to ruin a moment there buddy,I thought to myself. We parted and went to go study,we study till we got to our next class. Alexander Price isn't as bad as I thought.
