The Damsel in Distress

CHAPTER 1 Leaving Austria

As I walked past father and mother's room I heard them coughing again the Black Plague had came to our kingdom and father and mother have got it. This is the last day I will see there faces again. The coughs stopped father and mother had just died. As I ran into the carriage tears filled my eyes as I frantically gasped for air. My coachman started driving right when I got in the carriage for I was supposed to move into a little country town all the way in Ukraine. For my country was the country of Austria and it seems like it will not be a country for long. I am very healthy but there is to many people sick in Austria to stay. I looked at the border and said goodbye to Austria for the last time. My coachman had tears in his eyes for he was like an uncle to me and this was the last time we would see each other alive he gently kissed my cheek than gave me hug and whispered in my ear "good luck Marianne" after this he gave me a change of clothes and drove off back to Austria.

CHAPTER 2 The Prince

The next day as I woke up I was to go straight to Ukraine. Since none of my guards are awake though I shall travel around this city of the Prince of Slovakia. As I walked out of the alley where we were sleeping I heard water trickling under the hill side I was upon. As I ran down to the water I started taking of my shoes so that I could dip my feet in the water and wash my face and drink from the water. Once I started washing my face I felt so refreshed. "What are you doing here?", asked a non familiar voice, "Are you ok you seem frighten" said the he voice. I slowly turned around to see the Prince standing in front of me. "I am cleansing, relaxing like you should be not scaring people like you are doing!" I said before the boy could speak again. I had only heard of him but from what I could tell he was around my age with light blonde hair, small lips, button nose, very handsome, and very strong. As I gazed into his eyes for what felt like a second he suddenly grasped my hand and told me to follow him. As I did I felt a strange tingle sensation in my heart like I've known him for years. I felt love, but we had only just met it was so wrong for me to feel this.

CHAPTER 3 The Waterfall

As I followed him into under the waterfall he gently grabbed my hands and introduced himself as Prince Phillip after this I told him I'm Princess Marianne and I told him everything at an instant. As I soon figured out we have lots and common and he felt love for me as well. He then gently wrapped his arms around my waist gave me a nice warm hug and kissed my cheek. I then felt loved and when the guards were trying to find me I stayed in the waterfall siting silently by Phillip and holding his warm, soft hand.

CHAPTER 4 The Promise

After a year of knowing each other and staying with each other Phillip kneeled down one day and asked me to marry him I said yes. At this point of time Phillip and I lived in a little country house. Not long after we married Phillip had a sudden illness. First it started with itching then his skin turning color now he is coughing as well. As I tried to remember I soon figurehead that it was the Black Plague. As I told Phillip this he told me to leave him for he didn't want me to die because of him but I swayed him to a promise. The promise is that: If you shall die you shall die being with me and if I get it as well we will die together. With a very happy yet heavy heart Phillip said yes to my promise. As he worsened his illness soon came to me. I soon became worse than him and could not move anymore as this happened I felt tears of blood draining from my eyes. "Do you still love me even though I'm ugly now?"I questioned
"Your the most beautiful person in my eyes still of course I still love you!" He responded. After this there was a ringing in my ear then a sudden screech came out of my mouth and I cried from the awful pain.

CHAPTER 5 The Death Bed

As I woke up I saw Phillip get up. For his illness was done with and so he went to fetch us some food. As this happened I tried to call his name to please lay by me and I actually was able to say the words. As this happened Phillip dropped his bow turned around with joyous tears streaming down his face and ran to me giving me a huge kiss. At the his moment he took of his shoes and payed by me in bed holding me close. He told me about he missed my beautiful voice and how he missed hearing me talk to him and he missed the healthy me. As he said this I slowly fell asleep.

Chapter 6 The Surprises

6 weeks later I found out I was healthy and was going to live. As I heard this I ran to find Phillip to tell him of the joyous event the doctor told me. When I ran into the house he must have known for he had prepared a huge meal for us to eat in celebration. As I turned to face him he gave me a huge smile and a sigh of relief. After 6 weeks of not being at the doctor I went just to get checked on. When I did I also learned that there was only a certain amount of days not even a week till I was to have a baby. This was a huge shock as I heard this I ran to tell Phillip and when I did he seemed pleased at the news. As we prepared for the baby I started feeling a wretched pain so Phillip layer me on the bed and I gave birth. As there was a huge pain it all ended in seconds where I heard the cry of the baby. As Phillip gave the baby to me I saw it was a girl. Since Phillip came up with the name Clara we went with it. As I looked into her eyes I heard Phillip cough then say "I will always love you two so very much. Teach Clara about her father" after this with a sudden gasp for air he died. As I gently placed Clara on the bed I fell off the bed and cried on top of Phillip's dead cold body. When I glanced into his eyes he had the same twinkle as of when we first met & his smile was just as wide. After 12 years Clara and I know everything about him. To this day we still go to his memorial underneath and into the waterfall.
