yo people out there :) first story on wattpad!

It can’t get any worse than living alone at the age of sixteen, can it? Well guess what people it can. It can get much worse.
I sat in my living room watching the latest episode of MTV’s Teen Mom. My blanket was wrapped around my shoulders, and my feet were kicked up on the coffee table. You’re probably wondering right now how a sixteen year old is able to live on her own, right? Well, here’s how it all started.
One day I came home from school and the cops were parked out in front of my house. They were dragging my dad out in handcuffs and rolling a stretcher down the pathway to the front door. To be honest, I wasn’t one bit surprised. My dad was always threatening to kill my stepmom, Janelle, one day; looks like that day came sooner than any of us thought. A few cops looked over at me and my eyes widened. I bit my lip and then next thing I knew I was flying, of course not literally, down the street.
“Come back! Elizabeth stop!” I heard officer Rinaldi yell.
Yes, I know the officers name. I have had a few run ins with the police before. I was the kid everyone in town considered the “problem child”. I of course drank, smoked weed, and broke into a few house every now and then, but then again that was the average kid in Brighton, Vermont. I seemed to be one of the few, very few, that ever got caught doing anything. I was glad I’m constantly caught thought; it teaches people to be afraid of me. I wouldn’t hurt a fly but still.
I looked back to see officer Rinaldi catching up to me, “Yea, I’ll slow down when you lose like thirty pounds!”
That comment stopped him in his tracks and put a confused look on his face. I smiled and rolled my eyes. In the time it took him to realize that I was getting away I had already made it to the woods. I stopped and put my hands on my knees and took several deep breaths in.
From that day on I’ve been in hiding, well I wouldn’t say I’m hiding considering I’m in plain sight, but still. Now that I’m settled down somewhere where no one can bother me I’m about to be on the run once again after two years.
