As Natalie ran, she noticed something.

"Erin." Natalie said her name so seriously that Erin thought someone had died. They are always goofing off and when Natalie says Erin's name it's like she's singing it merrily.

"Uh oh. What? Are you okay?" Erin asked worried about Natalie's response.

"Um...yeah? I think. But we've passed this tree five times already. I know because each time I cut a slit into the trunk." Natalie replied pointing to the humongous tree in front of her.

"Are you kidding?!" Erin ran her hands through her hair out of frustration. "That means the woods are already changing. This is going to be harder than I thought." Erin said as she starting running and Natalie followed close behind.

Two hours later

Natalie's point of view:

This is wonderful. I started off right behind Erin and now I can't see her. Maybe if I call her name. No, I don't want to bring any attention to myself. If anything hears me out here, well, it won't end well.

No ones point of view:

Natalie then heard a sound that changed her mind about being quiet. She heard the scream. The same one that got her into these cursed woods. The scream was close by because it was loud. After two minutes of looking she gave up. She sat down on a fallen branch and put her head in her hands. Soon after she was soundlessly drifting to sleep.
