Chapter 5: Race-Wars

Brian has been told about this party at Johnny Tran's garage.  Brian has decided that it would be a smart idea to go snoop around everybody's cars.  He climbs the air vent up onto the roof of the garage.  He breaks the window, unlocks it and climbs in.  When he gets to the floor he sees three cars.  They are all Honda Civic's.  He knows race-wars is coming up soon so he looks under the hood.  Unbelievably there are no engines under the hoods of any of the cars.  He climbs back out the window and Vince hits him in the back of the neck with the butt of a pump action shotgun.  Dom starts to talk to him.  "Brian this is a time where you need to be very clear about what you are saying.  Why are you snooping around everyone's garage?"  Brian says "Race-Wars.  Dom you know I can't lose again.  Hector has just came into Harry's today and bought 3 Nos bottles, 3 Holley Racing headers, 3 turbos and 3 Motec system exhaust."  They all climb back up and into the garage.  Dom pulls up the tarp that is on top of the cars.  He says "What do they hope to run on, hopes and dreams?"  The garage door opens.  It's the Tran gang.  They have someone this time though.  It is the person building their engines.  They throw him on the ground and start kicking him.  Johnny Tran asks Lance "What do you think Lance?  140, 150?"  Lance says, "140 sounds nice.  Tran starts pumping oil into the mans mouth.  He starts yelling at him while the man is still spitting oil from his mouth.  Tran finally says "Where is our engines Todd... where's our engines?"  He says "There in the warehouse.  There in the warehouse".  Tran gets off of him and wipes his hands off with a cloth.  He tells Todd "Kiss my shoes Todd."  Todd goes to kiss his shoes and Tran kicks him in the gut.  He throws the towel down and says "Lets go get our engines."  Brian being a cop storms his house and wrecks the family dinner.

     Finally, Race-Wars is here.  Brian drives in and gets his number.  That noon Letty put up two-grand against a guy.  They pull up to the line.  The flagger lowers his arms and their both off.  The other racer hits his NOS button and starts to leave Letty behind him until Letty hits both of her NOS buttons and leaves him behind.  The other racer amazed, just can't believe what happened.  Later that day Jesse had put up his dads Corolla for pinks against Johnny Tran's Honda S2000.  They pull up to the line.  Leon, one of the Toretto gang, gets out of the car and tells Jesse "Good luck."  Brian walks up just as Tran rolls down his window.  Brian says "Jesse you can't do this, I bet he has at least a hundred grand under the hood of that car."  Jesse says "yeah and when I win, me and my dad can roll around together when he gets out of prison."  Jesse looks forward.  The flagger starts the race.  Jesse tree's Tran and they are both gone.   Jesse sees Tran start to catch up so he looks down and hits the NOS button.  Tran seeing him do this, hits both of his NOS buttons and starts to pass Jesse at the finish line.  Jesse knowing he lost drives off with the car.  Tran knowing he won, yells at Dom and says "Where's he going with my car?"  Dom says "He is going to get it washed."  Tran yells back and says "You know, cops stormed my house and you know what, it was you!"  Dom punches him in the face and says "I didn't touch nobody, I didn't touch nobody!"  He was finally taken off of Tran by security.  Tran lies on the ground smiling.  Later that night Dom, Vince, Letty, and Leon are all gone.  Brian notices this and ask Mia "Mia where are they going.  Where is Dom going."  She says "Brian what are you talking about?"  Brian says "Mia.  Mia.  I'm a cop."
