The lights throbbing, music blaring , bodies grinding and teenagers dancing without a care in the world; it was a typical high school party, one of the many, thrown by the school's most popular kids. But it was my first time attending, and I never felt so out of place.
"Hey, come on."
He jerked me, from where I was lingering at the door step and further inside the house,weaving his body, expertly through the sweaty mob of horny teenagers. I let myself be pulled as he dragged me to the refreshments table, and was nudging a red cup into my hand.
"Here"
"I don't think, I'm allowed."
"Relax. A little drink can't hurt anyone, and it's not like, you'll get drunk from one small cup."
I hesitated. If I got drunk, my parents would kill me, and it no unknown fact, the things that happened to drunk girls
"Hey, look at me," he turned my face towards his,"I swear, I won't let you get drunk"
Though we didn't talk so often now, we still had been friends from diaper days, all the way till the start of high school, and I knew that despite the fact, we had drifted apart, he would look out for me. So pushing all my doubt in the back of my mind, I smiled at him, and took the cup.
But as I took the first sip, I couldn't shake of the nagging doubt that his promise didn't sound so sincere.
Such a pity, I didn't know how true that was, right then
