(So, I figured I'd explain a few things before things continue so that you guys didn't get confused or lost. First off, in chapter one, I mentioned that Virgil and John were twins. Somewhat indirectly, as I said 'and he figured if there was anyone going to beat Scott 'Smother Hen' Tracy to the punch when it came to his brothers, it was Virgil. Especially, if it involved his twin.' First off, that headcanon only applies to the TAG side of things. It's slightly confusing, but the two iterations of the Tracy family have different birth orders.
For TAG it goes Scott, then Virgil and John, then Gordon, and finally Alan.
For the movie, it goes Scott, then John, then Virgil, then Gordon, and finally Alan.
For the twins headcanon, I have ArtisticRainey and their fanfiction 'Heads and Tails' on Fanfiction.net to thank for that. From the minute I read it I was in love with that headcanon, so thank you Rainey. (I would also suggest you check out that fanfiction, it's amazing!)
As for the reason why I decided to have differing birth orders, there's an endless birth order debate for John and Virgil over who was born first. So, considering I was going to have two sets of the boys, I figured, screw it, why not. Why not have one set be twins and have Virgil be the elder, and the other set not be twins and John be the elder. Best of both worlds eh?
While we're on the subject, I might as well mention ages. The age gap stays the same for both iterations (aside from the age gap between Alan and Gordon for the movie), but one set will obviously be older than the other, considering the fact that one set has twins and the other doesn't.
TAG: Scott (25), Virgil and John (22), Gordon (19), and Alan (16)
Movie: Scott (28), John (25), Virgil (22), Gordon (19), and Alan (14)
The age gap between the brothers is about three years (other than movie Gordon and Alan, which is about five.)
And as you may have noticed, in both sides of the story, Thunderbird Three has launched, both on their way to Thunderbird Five to rescue John. I figured this was the easiest way to tie the two together, and kind of creates a little tension for the TAG crew. As mentioned in the tags, this story is set after Skyhook for TAG, which is the episode where John pulls off what is referred to by Scott as 'the slickest maneuver anyone's ever seen.' During this, John uses the gravity ring on Thunderbird Five as a reel to pull CRUS out into space, and by doing so, puts about 25Gs upon himself. Then proceeds to get up, acting as if nothing ever happened. I call bull upon that, and figured something must have happened because 25Gs? Come on! That's not something you can just walk away from seriously.
So, during a call with his brothers shortly after, the oxygen deprivation and effects of having 25Gs put upon you finally starts to kick in with John, putting him in near critical condition, and results in Alan and Virgil going out in Thunderbird Three to get him and bring him to earth to get him medical attention.
Meanwhile on the other end of the spectrum, in the movie verse, The Hood attacks Thunderbird Five from the sea, taking advantage of the fact that John is alone and defenseless up there, and uses him as bait to lure the rest of International Rescue up into space with Thunderbird Three to help him. He then traps them on board Thunderbird Five, leaving them accounted for. With what's about to happen, this creates a lot of confusion and somewhat hilarity when The Hood realizes there's two Thunderbird Three's roaming around.
Finally, the Einstein-Rosen Bridge. More commonly known, as a wormhole. Once again, I thank starman-john-tracy, as I would have never come up with something like this without knowing about what an Einstein-Rosen Bridge was and what it could do, or more specifically, what a wormhole was and the fact it could theoretically transport you through not only space, but time as well. As far as I know, it's purely theoretical science at this point, as no tests have been conducted on wormholes or anything of the sort, but to me that just means I get to take a few liberties with it.
So, on the way back to earth, TAG Alan, Virgil and John get sucked into a wormhole, John's condition deteriorates, and bam. Tension 'n stuff. I kinda just gave away things but I don't really care.
As a warning, considering that there's two John's and a Brains and a Fermat and two Alan's (who are smarter than people credit him for) and the fact that the Einstein-Rosen Bridge is a prominate thing in this story, there's going to be a lot of scientific mumbo-jumbo. I will do my best to explain with my basic freshman year physical science knowledge and my trolling around on the internet looking for things that look mostly creditable for this. As a freshman in high school and the younger sibling of a brother, I kind of know where Alan is coming from, so that's why this story is from his point of view here.
Anyways, that's pretty much all I wanted to talk about here. If you read all of that, I give you a cookie. Seriously. I have oreos here, I will give you one if you read my rambling about things. I should have 'Through the Wormhole p. 2' out sometime soon, along with (hopefully) the next chapter of 'Colors' and 'Making a Scene.'
Okay, bye!)
