At a loss and without a home, the Minkus' share an apartment with the Matthews' until they can get back on their feet. / Riley & Farkle are 17.

The Minkus' had lost their money. Immediately, Riley jumped to tell them how they could stay here. At first, they refused the offer, saying they would hate to burden the Matthews' with their company. Of course, the other family told them how that was quite ridiculous. Besides, Riley knew that there was no way out of their offer. They had no money to stay elsewhere, and Maya's house was much too small.

Of course, deciding on a room-sharing plan was hard enough. Riley told Farkle he could stay in her room, which he was more than fine to share a bed with his friend.

However, Cory disagreed with that. Saying how Riley was a teenager, and Farkle was "a boy."

Topanga had furrowed her eyebrows at her husband, swatting his shoulder. "They're teenagers, Cory."

"Further proving my point of--"

"And friends."

"We were friends too, that doesn't mean that we didn't--"

"Dad!" Riley shrieked, covering his mouth from further exposing her parents' love life.

"Right." Cory nodded. Maybe he should have enough faith in his daughter. Besides, they were smart enough to know that anything they would do would be loud enough for the whole apartment to hear. At least, he figured. "Fine. But Farkle sleeps on the floor."

"Dad, that's not fair. You can trust Farkle! We've been friends forever, you really think he'd try and make a move on me?"

Cory couldn't help but smile. She was right. Honestly, out of all of his daughter's friends, Farkle was the one he trusted the most. "Fine. He can sleep on the.... bed. No funny business, Riley."

Riley tilted her head.

His daughter was far too innocent to even try something like that. Funny idea, though. "You're right."

And the rest of the first week went simply as it could. Riley and Farkle quite enjoyed sharing a room. They had a tendency to stay up watching cheesy rom-coms or horror movies, though, which only made them stay up later than even they would have preferred. Honestly, Riley forgot what it was like to not share a room with him.

One night staying up, the brunette looked toward her friend, nudging him with her shoulder. "Close the curtains. It's midnight and I don't want the neighbors to know we're awake watching..." She pulled up the guide on the television. "The Return of Zombiemania Three..."

"Why can't you close them?" Farkle asked, the two of them sitting on their legs on her--or now--their bed.

"Because you love me?" Riley had fluttered her eyelashes towards him, and he sighed, caving in and crawling from the safe haven of fluffy pillows and blankets-- which they each had their own of, thanks to Cory. Farkle pulled shut the light-colored curtains that hung over the bay window, also locking it, because he felt just the slightest bit safer if there wasn't anyone climbing in as they were sleeping-- even though that never happened. As Farkle leaned over, Riley would be lying if she said she hadn't taken the time to admire his backside. She then bit her lip, smiling at him as he turned back to her, sitting himself beside the brunette.

Riley laid her legs over his lap and turned her head toward the screen, forcing any thoughts she might have about the genius out of her mind. Thoughts about his smile, or his hair, or his beautiful, blue eyes that were deep and blue enough to put up a competition for the seven seas.

But he didn't know she liked him.

And the less he knew, the easier it was for her.

Riley felt a finger drag down her sock-covered foot and she yelped, pulling her feet up and tucking them underneath of her.
