Time capsule

Chapter three

Only ten ten days and those idiots will shut up .

"Hey , Karen "

"Hello , maya" I replied gruffly.

"Why the long face ?" She said with a smile.

"Time capsule"

"What ?"

" Time and capsule are the only words I've been hearing for the past twenty four hours"

"Ow! " she said as realisation struck her .

What about it ? she asked "aren't you excited ?"

"Well no , not really . Who gives a damn about some ten year old paper . "

"Not me , that's for sure" mumbled maya uncomfortably, more to herself.

"Why not  ?" I looked at her

"Well , um . because... " she said while adjusting her hand on her strap.

"Look , I'm not supposed be talking about this but I'll tell you anyways . "
she said quietly while moving closer to me as we walk across the hall.

"A few years ago a girl who used to attend our school -named Susan pierce- had mysteriously disappeared. 
The police tried searching for her but she left no trail , and no evidence was to be found. In fact even a search party was organised , it lasted three months until everyone sadly gave up due to the lack of detail and scarce information on her whereabouts"

"and how is that gotta do with anything related to the capsule ?"

"You didn't let me finish , Karen " she said while looking annoyed at me .

"Oh , sorry " I gave her a cheesy smile .

She was still looking at me .

"Please , do carry on " I said waiting for her .

"Anyways . Weirdly and out of nowhere, rumours stared to fly and people thought that Susan's body was brutally decapitated and put inside the time capsule - which by the way was set up at the same year she went missing  . However the alibi was that the capsule was already buried by the time Susan went missing , so the rumours calmed down and later on people were forbidden to talk about it , eventually because of all this hush-hush action people were slowly starting to forget about it . It's just so Sad how till this day her body hasn't been discovered yet and her parents are still in grief " She finished with huff and looked else where but to myself .

Wow , I thought silently , what a story .

"And you're not excited because it brings back memories? " I asked confused .

"No , not really . It's just ... this may sound crazy but I still believe the body is in there."

My head snapped rapidly at her direction .

"What do you mean , maya?"

"I mean what I said " she finally looked at me .

"The body may still be in there"
