Faited Curse

Chapter 2: Because Your In Danger.....

“Emmmmmaaa!” Tessa woke me up by yelling and jumping on me. It startled me and I kicked her off the bed “Shit! Sorry Tessa. Are you okay?” She gave a laugh laying flat on her back “You know for someone so dainty, you sure are very strong” I helped her up “What’s with the very gracious wake up call anyway?” She looked at me in disbelief “Your kidding right?” I frowned “MOM....Mom!” I watched Tessa run out of the room . A few seconds later she came back in dragging our mom in by the arm “Mom can you believe Emma doesn’t know what today is?” My mom gave a mock horror face “No. Emma have you forgotten?” I was getting more and more confused “What are you guys going on about?”. Neither of them answered. Instead my mom called my dad into the room “Ian!”. My dad entered a few minutes later dressed in a suit and tie “She forgot didn’t she” My mother nodded and he gave a chuckle “Emma think” I watched all three of them, each one looking alike with their brown eyes and dark hair, in perfect height order. First dad then mom then Tessa. Then I realized what I was missing. They were all dressed in semi formal clothes. I clapped a hand over my face “Shit. Graduation day.”

I had been so preoccupied by those mysterious men and trying to get some info out of G man that I had forgotten my own graduation. I hurriedly shoed them out of my room as I jumped to get ready. Two hours later I was ready. I ran downstairs, missing the last three steps as I went “Whoa! Slow down before you run someone over” I was halfway into the kitchen when I spun around and found Trey standing there with one of his infamous smirks “Trey!” I hugged him “Hey I thought you said you weren’t coming” He laughed “Tessa made me” I laughed. Trey was our older brother, he was twenty four and already a fast rising star in the acting world. Tessa was twenty and a student studying engineering and me well I was just me. We drove in silence, but it wasn’t a bad silence it was a happy one filled nervous yes, but a happy one. The ceremony took a while and I found it hard not to squirm in my seat. A movement under a nearby tree drew my attention. I couldn’t be sure, but I was certain it was Allister and his friend. Everyone stood up catching me by surprise. I quickly got up and followed as of nothing had happened.

After the ceremony I dodged my family and headed to where I had seen the two men, but they were gone. “Emma what are you doing?” Tessa asked watching me with weary eyes “Oh I was just looking for a cat?” She frowned in confusion “A cat?” I smiled “Yes a cat. I saw one here, but it’s gone now” She shrugged it of and I followed her to my parents. No wonder they disappeared, they saw Tessa following me. My parents kept a watchful eye on me throughout the event and I could not get away from them. Once at home they kept it up. I had had enough “What in the hell is going on with you guys?!” I hadn’t meant to yell, but I was annoyed “What do you mean Sweetheart?” My dad asked innocently “Fine keep your secrets. Just stop.” I got up and went to my room making sure to lock it behind me. I changed out of my dress and into a pair of comfy jeans, a black top, my black combat boots and my black hoodie. Then I jumped out of the window and headed to the park.

“Whoa what happened Sherlock? You look ready to kill” G man asked. I gave an annoyed sigh as I sat down on the swing “My family. Their acting really strange today” His ghostly face frowned “In what way?” I slowly began to swing back and forth “They’ve been watching me like crazy today, never leaving me alone. And when I asked them about it they acted as if they hadn’t done anything out of the ordinary”. G man didn’t respond. Instead he looked behind me. I turned in the swing and found only Allister standing behind me “Well hello to you too” I said turning back around “Emma did you see anything strange today?” Allister asked taking a seat on the swing next to mine “Other than you and your friend at my graduation. No.” His face turned sombre “Emma we weren’t at your graduation” This confused me “But I saw you in the shade under a oak tree” He shook his head “Emma we had a mission and my partner Mr. Fields got hurt” I felt scared “But if it wasn’t you then who was it?”. Allister stood up “Come Emma we need to get you home and packed” I got up “Why?” His deep grey eyes caught mine “Because your in danger”.

We practically ran to my house with G man close behind. He had refused to stay alone in the park and said that he could help us more if he came with us. I didn’t think he could but Allister agreed. I jumped up onto the roof and thru my window with Allister following close behind “Pack as much as fast as you can” I obeyed and grabbed two big black bags from my closet and threw as much close and necessities as possible into the bags. A knock on my bedroom door almost scared me to death. Allister’s still hooded figure motioned for me to go open the door at his signal. He stuffed the bags back into the closet and jumped out onto the roof. I opened the door “Emma are you still mad?” Tessa asked as she and Trey entered my room “No just tired” They nodded in understanding “So I’m heading back tomorrow afternoon and I still want to treat you to ice cream, so how about tomorrow morning” Trey said watching us “Sure” I smiled, but inside my heart was breaking because I knew I wouldn’t be here anymore tomorrow. He smiled “Okay night little sis and remember no sleeping late” Tessa and I laughed “Shouldn’t you be saying that to yourself” He laughed as they left. My face fell as Allister came back into the room “Write a note telling the  that you’ll be in touch and that you’ll call them as soon as possible” I nodded. I wrote the note the way I knew how and placed it on my bedside table, before I followed Allister out the window. 

We went back to the park where Allister had left his car. It was a black car, it was all I could make out as he threw my bags in the back and told G man to get in the back. I sat in the front with him as we drove. We drove in silence even G man was a silent small floating ball of light, floating around the car as we drove. I felt exhausted and closed my eyes. I felt a single tear rolled down my cheek as fell deeper into my dream world.
