My name is Isabella Marie Swan, but people call me Bella. I have a secret that no one knows. I'm a vampire. To make matters worse, I'm a vampire that lives in Phoenix, Arizona. I know, crazy right? Well not any more. Today I'm moving, to Forks, Washington, with my father. I gave my mom a sob story about how I miss my dad, and in truth I do, but I didn't really want to go to Forks. Honestly I'm surprised she believed me. She's always told me that I'm a bad liar, which is true. I didn't have a choice though. Living in Phoenix isn't safe. Not for a vampire, anyway. It's just too sunny. Before you ask, no I don't burn up in the sun. I actually sparkle, like a million diamonds, which is a problem. I could walk down the sidewalk, and cause a crash. It's no ordinary day when you see someone sparkling in the sun. My mom doesn't want me to go, and I don't want to go. But I have to, it's the only way to keep my secret.

It's 10:15 a.m, and we just arrived at the airport. "Bella, honey, are you sure you want to do this? It's not too late to change your mind." My mom asked, tears forming in her eyes. I faked a smile. "Mom I miss dad, and I want to see him. I'll call, text, and email you. Don't worry. I'm 17 now mom. I'll be fine." She smiled, and now the tears were just rolling down her rosy cheeks. "I know, sweetheart. I love you. Be safe, and tell Charlie I say hello." I hugged her, and whispered in her ear. "I love you too mom. Always, and I'll tell him." Then I boarded my plane.

While I'm on this dreadful plane I'll tell you a little about myself, and how I became a vampire. Of course you know my name, and age. My birthday is September 13th, and my favorite color is brown. Brown is warm. I have lived in Phoenix as long as I can remember. My mom is Renee, and my dad is Charlie. One night I was walking, I don't know where. I was just walking. Then I heard a woman scream for help, and she sounded terrified. So I started running. I wanted to save her, but when I got there there was a lifeless body, and a man. At the time I didn't know he was a vampire. All I knew was he had just killed someone, and the thought made my blood run cold. I started to scream, but his hand was over my mouth as soon as it opened. Then he whispered in my ear. "Unless you want to end up like this poor girl I suggest you don't scream. Would you like for me to let you go without killing you?" I nodded, and then he bit me. At first I was angry, and then I was writhing in pain. Now here I am, four months later trying to face reality.

Well there is just two more things you need to know. Number on. I feed on animals, and number two. I'm very powerful. When I was created I found out that I had two powers, r abilities. I was a metal shield, which protected my head from anyone around me, and I was a magnet. Which means I could mimic the powers of vampires around me, and I've only ran in to three in the last four months. So that's me, and now time to meet my dad.

I got off the plane to find my dad, a huge smile plastered on his face. I couldn't help, but to return the gesture. Then he did something that didn't surprise me, so much as scare me. He hugged me, and I didn't know how he would react to the way I feel to him, cold and hard as a rock.  But he didn't notice. "Bella I've missed you so much. So so much." I laughed. "I know dad, and I've missed you too. No we'd better get going. I need a good nights sleep before my first day of school." He let go of me, and said. "Of course. Come on." He started walking in the direction of his car, and I stopped. Of course he would drive that damn police cruiser. Mr. Sheriff never drove anything else. "Dad you should really get a car. I don't like riding in that thing." He frowned. "Well you wont have to for long. I got you a present. A truck." I smiled. "Awe dad you didn't have to. I was saving up to get a car for myself." "Bella I already bought it, and you'll love it." I smiled, and nodded. Then we were off to his house. It was still the same as I remembered. Right down to the baby swing. Then I saw my truck, and fell in love. It was a chevy, I think. It was red, and beautiful. Old a hell, but it had character. "Oh my gosh dad! I love it!" I practically screamed jumping up and down. He smiled, once again. "I knew you would, let's go. I'll get your bags." I walked to the door, and opened it. I feasted my eyes on everything, yearning to find something changed. But to my knowledge nothing had. It made me sad. Had he ever gotten over my mother? "Well dad. It's pretty late. I'm going to hop in the shower, and then go to bed." I kissed him on the cheek, and then went on my way.

After my shower I went to my room, and locked the door. Knowing I wasn't going to sleep myself, because vampires don't sleep. I jumped out my window, and headed to the forest. I needed to hunt if I was going to school tomorrow. Soon I was full, and I went back home. I lay in my bed with my eyes closed for what seemed like years, but when I opened my eyes it was almost time for school. So I got ready.
