I saw Harry sitting on the doorsteps as Jase dropped me off. I knew that Jase saw him as well and that it made him uncomfortable, but I told him that it was nothing he had to worry about. It is, however, something that I have to worry about. Harry stood up and smiled when he saw me. Sweet baby Jesus.
"Hey," Harry said, never taking his eyes off of me.
"Hello."
"So, uh, did you guys break up?" Harry asked awkwardly.
Out of all the times that he chooses not to be arrogant and cocky I swear.
"Yeah, we did."
Harry smiled widely and inched closer to me and took my hands in his. I cocked my brow and looked at him. "What are you doing?"
"What?" he asked, confusion clear on his face.
"What?"
"You guys broke up, right?"
"Yeah, and?"
"Isn't that a sign that, I don't know, we start, you know."
"Is it?"
"I mean, yeah. Isn't that why you broke up with him?"
"I broke up with him because I didn't have feeling for him and I didn't want it to ruin our friendship, Harry. I can't think of any other reason."
"Un fucking believable."
"Dude, I just broke up with my boyfriend. Do you legit think that I would be running into your arms right now? Ha, you would have thought."
Harry rolled his eyes. "Even to this moment you're pissing me off."
"It's what I do best. Why should I stop now?"
Harry grinned, showing clear amusement. "Okay. But just so you know, you've just initiated the war."
"What."
"If you're not gonna give in then I guess I'm going to try even harder now." His smile grew wider, making him look sort of creepy in the dim night sky.
"Okay, I didn't say all that-"
"Which means, if you thought that I was annoying before, you're in for a big surprise."
"Dude, okay. Calm down."
"Your house is going to be my second home, your friends are my friends, your personal space is my personal space."
I guess the look on my face was pure mortification and horror because Harry's smiled toned down like about ten notches. I didn't ask for this. I don't know what I did to deserve this.
"Well, goodnight."
"Yeah, goodnight."
I watched until Harry completely left until I decided to enter my house and lock every single lock I could find. My parents thought that I was completely insane when I started locking every door in the basement, but knowing Harry he would find a way to enter from there. I knew that Harry was probably only messing with me, but better safe than sorry.
I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of the curly-haired boy that was trying to win my affection as I fell asleep that night.
...
I've always found ambition, passion, and determination very attractive qualities - well that is until now.
Harry was determined to annoy the living hell out of me, believing that if he annoys me enough I'll give in and go out with him.
And although he was ambitious, my stubbornness easily matched his ambition.
Sadly, for the both of us, I'm not quite sure if that's exactly a good thing.
He was determined to leave for school at the same time as me, escort me to every class, sit in the seats nearest to mine, and try to grab my attention in every class. Knowing that he was doing this with the sole intention of annoying me made it very difficult to control my anger. It was currently lunch and there has been no sign of him (I ran off before the previous class ended). Maybe he'll give me a break this period since he knows how important food is to me.
"Hey, friends."
I spoke to soon.
Harry pulled a chair from another table and dragged it over to ours. As I predicted, he sat right next to me.
I ignored him and kept eating.
My friends just looked at him, then at me, looking very confused. Mel smiled at me and mouthed what I think was "I caused this."
Little did she know, that isn't exactly a good thing.
"Hi," Ted said awkwardly. It was obvious that he was very intimidated by Harry.
Jase just followed my move and ignored Harry. It was clear that he was trying his best to not look uncomfortable.
"So, what brings you to our table?" Mel chirped.
Harry was about to say something, but knowing him, what he planned on saying would only piss me off.
"If you ignore it, it will eventually go away," I said, cutting Harry off.
"Good luck with that approach."
I saw Jase smile when he realized that Harry and I weren't exactly a couple like he'd imagine.
I couldn't help but sigh to myself. If this is how annoyed he can make me in a single day, it would be easier and less painful if I just agreed to every stupid request of his.
However, my stubbornness and pride would not allow it.
