"Savannah come in here please"
"Coming mother"
"Yes?" I say to my parents who are sitting quietly on the sofa in my fathers study.
"We need to talk" my father says with a serious face.
My stomach drops, my heart starts to beat faster and faster.
"What did I do?"
"Me and your mother have made a decision, it's time for things to change around here starting now. We will be moving into a smaller house in a small town, your last day of private school will be tomorrow"
As my father goes on I can feel my stomach getting tighter and tighter.
"What do I do? Do I scream? cry? Run away?"
These are all the options I run through my head as my father is still talking, so I just stand there clenching my fists and try to fight back the tears.
"Do you have any questions?"
My mother asks.
A million things to ask run through my head but the only thing I can work up enough courage to say is
"What about the staff, the cook, the maid? Are they coming with us?"
"No, they have been laid off, they're last day is tomorrow also."
The tears are getting harder and harder to fight back.
"When you get back from school tomorrow we will start packing."
My mother says in the softest voice possible.
I made the mistake of letting one tear fall, thinking that it would change there minds.
I turn around to leave the room but my father starts talking again. I turn around agin to look at them now letting more and more tears slip down my face.
"Savannah this is for the best, we've been living with servants and maids and cooks far to long, it's time for us to do it all on our own."
All I can say is "ok." I turn around to leave the room again only now I couldn't fight back the tears anymore.First chapter done! Let me know what you guys think so far. Any ideas for the next chapter?!🙈💜
