"What do you all think your doing?" He stood as he spoke, walking over to the door and pulling it the rest of the way open from where is had been slowly moving. It appeared they had not been expecting him to catch them in the middle of the argument, and he didn't bother hiding his annoyance (as he felt it was expected, under these circumstances). These people, known as the Ouron-Highschool-Host-Club, had been following him around.
All day.
Didn't they have.... Classes, or something? What did these people DO for a living? Sit around talking to girls, and using that as an excuse to get out of god-forsaken classes that make even the most attentive learners cover their heads in shame- wait. He should soooo become a part of that.
"W-well w-we were -just looking for you to ask you-" The blond one, pompous though he may be, certainly had courage.
Yet Rin wasnt having it. Slowly pushing them out the door, He slammed it in their faces.
All Rin wanted to do was get back to work.
He sat down in the chair he had been in before, pulling a case file and tablet out of his 'book-bag' (it was more of a travel case, honesly,). It was time for research, seeing as he had a case and intended to complete it. Setting the tablet in a position where the camera was on his face, he dialed the number to his boss's phone.
"Yo, Rin!" A man with long white hair answered, a top hat on his head. He was wearing a suit for once, Rin noticed. He wasn't wearing his shades for once, so Rin could see his blue and green eyes.
"Hello, Jack. I'm at the school, so use the code names for once, yes?" The reply came quietly, grey eyes glancing back at the door. "I've looked over the case, but I'm not sure who to contact for a tour of the crime scene."
"I thought Jackal told you?"
'Like Jackal would ever think.'
"No, but he called earlier. I saw the house, it's like you said. It really seams like there's someone there... It's odd, but I feel I might need help on this."
'Jack' was still for a moment, Seeming to think, but then he spoke, " The only person who would be available would have to be... Salvador... But even he's drowning in paperwork."
"And who is to blame for that, hmm?" A voice called from just off camera.
"Only mine, of course!" 'Jack' called back, a wicked grin filling his face. "Anyway, I'll see who I can get, but if no-one is available, I'll come down myself. Expect someone in about two days time, alright?"
"But of course, Jack." Rin spoke, rolling his eyes, "however you don't need to come down yourself, I should be fine if you can't find someone else."
"Only the best for my Sally! Besides, remember last time we didn't listen?"
In a matter of speaking, he did. In fact, his back still had the scars.
Just something else to remind you of how much of a failure you are.
Somehow, Rin couldn't find it in him to disagree.
"Well, Jack, I have some pesky children whom can't keep their ears to themselves to deal with, so I will have to call you back at a later date."
"Awww, why not later this evening?" Jack pouted as he spoke, his head drooping down and his bottom lip pushing out. "I know you don't have anything else to do~!"
"Because, unlike someone I know, I need to get my job done before my brothers decide I've been away long enough." It was a pressing concern, his brothers... They never seem to think he could take care of himself.
It took only a minute or so to get Jack to let him be, but Rin knew the 'Host's were listening.
Rin stood, bending his back, stretching his mussels and gathering his things, before walking over to the door silently. When he pulled the door open again, five bodies fell into the room, landing in a pile at his feet. Rin stared blankly at the five figures before stepping over them and into the hall.
"Good day, Fujioka-San, Mori-Kun." Rin spoke to the mentioned two, " I do hope you both had nothing to do with them."
He didn't wait for a reply, walking down the hall and making his way out of the school undisturbed. Before he walked completely home, however, he took one last look at the apartment building in front of the school gates.
Rin was dreading this case already.
By the time Rin had gotten home, it was late and he had missed calls from Jack. He couldn't be bothered to reply to them, so he left his phone on the kitchen counter and began working on his dinner as his mind wondered to the chalkboard in the living room.
It was full of tacked images and information on this target, papers scattered around it, on top of it, and even taped to the sides. In all sense of the subject, it was messily organized, but only just so to himself.
He was the only one, besides Jack, that can make heads or tails of the information scattered in that room, as such he knows it's safe.
But that wasn't what he was focused on. He was thinking about the case, a seemingly normal murder- but if that were so, Rin wouldn't be called in. Rin wouldn't be here, in his home country.
He wouldn't be in this hell.
Taking the chicken and rice off of the stove, He made his plate and put the leftovers away, fully expecting to eat them tomorrow.
Oddly enough, he could tell he wouldn't- but he did it anyway.

(TBC)
So, yeah, I added more onto this chapter.
And yes, I actually indented in this chapter.
I'm thinking about doing it to all of them. Should I? Or should I not?
If I do, I might go back and edit those, too... Maybe I will..... Maybe I won't.
I'm also thinking about just making the whole story first person instead of third... Should I?
