Chapter 1: Brianne, Brian

"You know what, you suck in football!" Johan screamed at Drake. "You're the reason we lost!" Drake only smirked to show his disapproval. He grabbed his bag pack and changed his soaking shirt into something clean and fresh. He giggled at my brother who is still furious with their lost.

"You're unbelievable. You're the one with a flat butt because of sitting at the bench the entire game and you're screaming at me for doing the only 3 goals for our team. You're such a kid." He retorted. Johan's faced turned red and with furious eyes, he started blurting to Drake "I should be the one doing that for our team!"

"Uh uh, tell that to coach." He answered my brother with a grin, who in turn shot him with glaring eyes. "What? It's not my fault you're suspended." He added. My brother who already started undressing his wet clothes tried opening his mouth but can't think of any rebuttal. Finally, "You know what, sometimes I hate having you as my best friend." He managed to answer.

"Okay kids! Let's go home before the sky join forces with you two and start pouring." I told the both of them and jogged to the parking lot. When I noticed that they haven't moved an inch to follow me, "Hey ladies! The car is leaving, unless you want the driver i.e. me to leave you here!" My brother said something which I can't hear because of the distance, they both chuckled taking big steps towards the car. "Okay, whatever." I murmured to myself.

Aside from the bickering of the two annoying people in the car, the drive back home is smooth. No heavy traffic. Surprisingly, no rain. "Burger Republic!" I blurted upon seeing the newly open store at the side of the road. "I know I might have exaggerated my excitement but don't judge, I'm starving!" The two nineteen year old boys give me a knowing look as if telling me "We know, you eat like the whole football team, Sarah." Then Johan started speaking while forcing himself not to laugh, "Oh stop it Sarah. You eat practically, everything! So don't act like you're this gentle and very "ladylike lady" because everyone knows you eat like a man!" I didn't even have to respond to his words, it's not like I'm offended or something but yeah, I love eating and I don't have any plans on stopping loving food just to prove my feminity.

I started unbuckling my seats and headed towards the newly open burger store and I remembered something. "Oh, Johan?" He just raised his eyebrows to tell me to continue speaking so I did. "I'm going to pretend like I didn't hear you insulting me and my feminity since Brianne will be coming over tomorrow and let's see whose assess will be kicked playing football for the rest of the summer vacation." I smirked at him. I can't pretend as well that I didn't see the glow in Johan's eyes as I mentioned my cousin's vacation here in Storybrooke. We both loved Brianne and her funny antics and so not-lady-like-behaviors. I guess it runs in the blood huh!

Brianne is my closest cousin, we are of the same age and she is like a best friend to me. When we were kids, I really had to convince my mom to adopt Brianne so we could be officially sisters. My mother just laughed at me, knowing that Brianne and I are already spending way more time together. "Sarah, Brianne is your sister. You know, being a sister doesn't mean you have to have the same parents because technically, she is my sister's daughter. She's you're cousin but if you like the term "sister" then be it. As long as you treat each other like sisters, I guess we don't really need to adopt her and I'm pretty sure her mom won't like the idea of us adopting her only daughter." She told me with a red-faced, obviously forcing herself not to laugh. We really are sisters. Our closeness broke my heart when my family decided to move to Storybrooke during 4th grade. Away from Bridgestone. Away from Brianne.

A curve of smile formed in my lips when I remembered how we would team up to annoy the hell of Johan when we we're in Bridgestone. We had each other's back against my older brother's teasing and bullying. I know Johan feels the same way when it comes to Brianne. He treated her like his own sister. I can't even forget how he defended her against Fatty Patty during 2nd grade.

I have been spacing out for the last seven minutes and I was a bit shocked when the burger store attendant asked me what my order will be. I then tried to focus on their menu and blurted "err... Heart Attack Large Burger?" The attendant, a small figured Asian girl then realized that my order somehow scared me or maybe she sensed that I am not sure of what I'm ordering. "Definitely this one, this one is our best sellers! This yummy goodness will definitely give you a heart attack. Once you taste it, you'll crave it more!" She assured me with a not-so-commercial-like answer. Ok, that's sarcasm from me. A good sarcasm (if there is any). "Ok then, Heart Attack Burger it is!" I answered. Honestly, the name is a bit scary for me but the way it looks, it stirs this melting sensation inside my mouth.

Johan, Drake and I headed to a table at the corner of the store and started enjoying our orders. I was surprised when the-almost-six-feet tall boys (Johan and Drake) ordered the same Heart Attack Burger. I guess they trust my food instincts huh! I am slowly drifting to the world of deliciousness again when Drake said something which Johan and I find very funny. "So, this Brianne (he pronounced it the normal- Bryan-spelled-way) is such a good football player guy huh." He commented, clearly basing from me and Johan's previous conversation at the parking lot.

My eyes directed to Johan as if we are having a telepathic conversation. We both giggled and I'd like to think that we had an agreement then. "Uhm, you could say that." Johan answered with a hidden smile which only he and I can understand. "A good football player, yes." We are both stopping ourselves to burst into laughter. I bit my tongue to suppress the temptation to give Drake an idea that Brianne is a girl. I don't know why but I guess, Johan and I find it funny to see Drake's face when he realized that our cousin is not as masculine as he imagined her to be. I guess Johan and I have something in common; we want to find fun anywhere we want it to be. That wickedness also runs in the blood. Tsk tsk. "Well, it's about time I have someone to compete in football and hangout with." He said intending to tap into my brother's ego. "Hey! You're no competition, you know? Not to me. Not to my cousin Brianne." My brother defensively replied. We all laugh to Johan's childishness. I murmured to myself "Oh Drake, you don't have any idea."
