A growl sounds behind me, deep and threatening. I turn and see a jet black wolf snarling at me with its hackles raised. A pile of torn clothing lies beside it and a foot away the remains of my own swimwear. Is that... Kyle? Why does he look like he's about to take a chunk out of me?

'It's not your friend, it's his wolf, child. You must assert your position as Alpha for him to back down' I jump as the feminine voice speaks again and look around but find nothing but the wol- Nothing but Kyle.

'Now, child! Before he attacks!' It yells at me. Kyle snaps his jaws and barks at me, taking a couple steps forward. Taking a chance, I reciprocate what I've read in books, hoping it works.

Swallowing my fear, I raise my head and stand tall in front of him, baring my teeth and parting my jaw slightly. Suddenly, it's like I lose control of my body. I am here, in my body, but someone else is controlling me. A sense of panic surges through me before The Voice speaks again 'Calm little one, it is just me. Let me take it from here'

My head lowers menacingly, hackles raised while snarls and growls echo around the room. I move forward, no longer the unsure stumbling steps from earlier, but strong, sure, graceful strides. My whole body radiates dominance, demanding to be obeyed. My body steps forward again, advancing until I am right in front of him. His own power hovers around him, but not as strong as my own. I have a sense he is a wolf of status, although not quite as high up as myself.

Then, as if the wolf could hear, the voice in my head calls out with my-our- mind. 'Submit!'

He resists, barking out and stepping forward. But she is ready, I find myself advancing another step, my tail raising high as I kneel down into a crouch, ready to respond to an attack. He halts. The Voice commands him to submit again.

Finally, the wolfs head lowers until his nose rests just above the ground, snarling silencing and its tail tucking down between its legs. In response, my head lifts high, standing tall and ears perked up proudly. He has submitted. 'He is your friend now, Little One. Speak to him.'

I feel control return to me and I sit, tail swishing back and forth on my floor. I tilt my head in confusion- a habit I've had since childhood- and think about her words. Wolves cannot speak, so how would I be able to talk to him?

I am shaken from my thoughts when a familiar voice enters my mind. 'Sarah?' My eyes widen as his voice sounds in my head. How did he...?

'Kyle?' I tentatively whisper, not with my voice but as the voice did, with my mind. I doubt it will work, I mean, how can people communicate with their minds? Although, it shouldn't be so surprising considering we were human no less than an hour agao and now two giant wolves are standing in my bedroom, myself one of them. My doubts are silenced when he replies.

'What happened? How is this possible?' His voice is filled with disbelief as he too experiments with the use of this new form. Stumbling steps, tripping and collapsing a couple times before he starts to get the hang of it.

My reply is cut short by sounds coming from my living room. clicking of something sharp on the hardwood floors. Teeth snapping together.

Snarls resounding through the house.

Flashing Kyle a confused glance, I run from the room and down into where our friends were sleeping.

Walking into my living room, I was shocked into stillness. In front of me were 4 large wolves standing in a circle, growling and snapping at each other. Spread throughout the room were torn pieces of swimwear. A bikini top tangled around the foot of one of the smaller wolves. 'Calm them! before they tear each other apart!'
