Raindrops began to pour down from the sky. The earth seemed to be shaken by the thunder, and the sky was lit up by the lightening in an eerie way. Every raindrop felt like a torrent of slaps to Dipper.
He quickly found shelter under a pine tree and shivered from the cold.
"Greetings!" boomed a voice. "How's life?"
Dipper groaned. He did not have to look up to see who the owner of the voice was. It was as clear as day.
"I have come to your rescue, Pine Tree!" said Bill Cipher, twirling his cane. He did a short tap dance.
"I am not a damsel in distress," Dipper spat. He was really annoyed. "You're not here for my rescue. You're here to make fun of me, steal my body, give me strange tattoos, lie to me, or do whatever demonic things you like to do!"
"I like your attitude," the demon remarked. "It's so adorable to see you trying to be intimidating. We can change that though. We can make you really terrifying. We can make people fear you, for they should be reminded to never mess with the higher calling."
The demon floated closer to his face. "I can teach you, Pine Tree. Be your mentor. I can teach you everything ... I don't need anything in return, but I hope you consider this offer."
Dipper thought over the words he said. It sounded safe - no conditions and no returns. Bill could teach him everything he wants to know. The demon was nearly omnipotent after all.
If he accepted it, he would be part of a higher calling and —
Suddenly, Dipper felt someone grab by his wrist; his feet were not touching the ground anymore. Dipper yelped, and tried to break away from his grasp, but it was too strong. With a snap of the demon's fingers, the boy found himself in a mansion surrounded by various luxury decorations. On the walls, there were taxidermy animals and pictures of pioneers.
"Welcome to the Dreamscape. Feel free to do whatever you want. It's not real by the way. Be my guest, Pine Tree," said Bill, sounding elated. Having said that, the demon did a little spin and disappeared into thin air.
Dipper stood dumbfounded. What?
Did he just leave me here alone in this dreaded Dreamscape?
Dipper could not believe it. He wanted to scold himself for even thinking of Bill being kind to him. That sweet deal? Forget it, it was a trick! Lies, lies, and more lies. Lying was a second nature to the demon.
He was sick of it.
While he was suffering in his emotional turmoil, his fingers began to blacken. The boy was too bothered to care, nor did he notice the flames crawling the walls.
"BILL CIPHER!!" yelled Dipper. His voice sounded strange to his ears, but Dipper was too tired. Too tired to play Bill's little games.
He wanted to burn the place down.
He did not care.
Dipper was soon brought to reality when he heard a scream from behind. He turned around to face his friend, Pacifica, who was staring at him in fear.
Fear ... he has never seen that emotion on her before. He never felt it. The fear ... it was so much. It was suffocating him. It was ...
"Pacifica?"
The girl screamed even louder. "You're burning my house!" She gestured at the blue flames frantically.
Dipper widened his eyes. He did not know Bill Cipher was good at creating illusions. Well, considering that he was in a place called the Dreamscape, that would not be a hard feat. It was all fake anyway.
The Pacifica before him was another fake.
"Dipper." She said, her voice trailing off as she extended her hand to him. Dipper backed away from her, as if her hand was poisonous.
Trust no one.
"You'll never fool me, you monster!" shouted Dipper.
"You're calling me a monster? You?" Pacifica cried in disbelief. "You're the monster here!"
"Everything's wrong, Llama."
Pacifica scoffed. "You're bloody insane."
Burn burn burn burn burn
"Yes," Dipper said, as he looked straight into her eyes. "I guess I am insane."
Then he laughed.
