"I don't really want to go out I'm just gonna head home" I dismiss myself from the locker room planning and start my way home. Following the cracks in the sidewalk, I count each stoplight I pass, thinking over the game and what I did wrong. You're never getting called up striking out. You're never getting called up not making throws to first. I need to focus on my game not hitting up bars and strip clubs every night with the guys. I need to get to the big legues, that's all I've ever wanted.
I reach the last strip of downtown clubs, only a mile more till my apartment. "Ow what the hell" I mutter and a light giggle comes from the body slumped into me. "S-Sorry where's home?" A pair of glazed blue eyes stares up at me, her brown hair in a mess of a bun atop her head. "I don't know who you are" I answer getting another giggle from her. "You're so hot" "Look I really need to get home I have work tomorrow do you have friends you can stay with?" Her face falls from the smiling self it was. "N-no they're l-long gone" She sniffs like a sad child making me groan but take her into my arms. "You can stay with me but only tonight you're gone in the morning" "Yes sir."
