"All stories have a start, as do all people. But, there are some stories that have had a strange turn of events ... All on that very day 30 years ago ..."

It seemed like a normal day in Los Angeles, the weather was fine with the sun shining, probably around 70 degrees outside with a slight breeze. It was a busy day, people walking around the city to get some food probably since it was in the late afternoon. However, this was not going to be a normal day for LA, let stand the people in it or even the world. The time for something unsettling was about to strike.

Even though the sky was clear at first due to the bright sun, it seemingly started getting darker. The people started looking up toward the sky, trying to see what was up. At first, it looked like a dark cloud, until only a few seconds later something else happened. A massive explosion of gas of sorts spread through LA, the shockwave blowing everything in its path aside and shattering all the nearby building's windows, followed by a gnarly smell.

Hours later, once the authorities started showing up at the scene, there had already been numerous deaths recorded, and the survivors were severely ill. Considering the material damage wasn't too heavy, they judged it was a gas-bomb of sorts, but what that gas had done was uncertain.

"Hrhm ... The newspaper? I wonder what's up ..." A voice sounded. The voice heard was that of the young Joseph Walker. Joseph appeared to be a normal guy, except for his light-colored hair. His beaming eyes looked at the content of the newspaper, as he flipped it open, seeing only more unusual news. "Mysterious disappearances in LA, no traces left?" He mumbled as he read the headlines. There was one thing different from him compared to the rest, though ...

He was a curious one, and loved unusual things. He always tends to get to the bottom of something, meaning there was only one thing he knew he could do: Go to LA! "If I remember it right, gramps told me I was born in LA, so I guess going back to where I come from isn't too bad. I'm going, to LA!" He said with a grin, running over to his room to pack his belongings. He didn't need a lot, luckily enough.

The clattering and yammering of the office style work environment filled the room, with many uniformed officers talking to one another and other individuals hammering away at keyboards, filing any kind of report that they had to. One such person found herself staring intently at a case file in one hand, while she swirled her coffee mug in the other.

She kept a trained eye on the file, as if she was trying to find a hidden meaning behind the inked letters on that page. After what seemed like an eternity, the woman finally caved into frustration and slammed the folder on her desk with an irritated grunt, though not without letting some of her coffee spill on the floor.

She paid no mind to the mess she made and merely took an exaggerated breath to calm herself, before placing the mug on her desk and leaning back against her chair. "This...doesn't make any sense at all...", the girl groaned, all the while staring at the ceiling out of sheer disbelief. "What's gotten you so riled up, Emelia?", Boomed a raspy sounding voice from the doorway, prompting the young brunette to turn in surprise.

As she turned, she looked up at the man leaning against the door frame of her office, with as stern a look as ever. He was a tall fella, with a neat suit and a face that made him look well past his years, but she of all people knew just how reliable this old goat was.
