Once Upon a Flower

Chapter 2

Leo's POV:

"I just don't understand why you don't let me drive", I scoffed. "You know I'm not a kid anymore."

"Leonardo, your aunt instructed me to temporarily prohibit you from driving. You know she's still angry about you wrecking her new Mercedes Benz.

"Oh. My. God! I told you it wasn't my fucking fault. If Daniel hadn't drunk too much, AND pushed me into the trunk of the car, none of this would have happened."

"Leonardo, I believe you. But it's still because of your irresponsibility that your aunt's car is wrecked. You knew well enough that you shouldn't have gone partying with your friends on a school night."

"Ok. Ok. Don't go all 'mother knows best' on me."

To be honest, if it hadn't been for Benjamin, my 'amazing' bodyguard, I would have been thrown in jail, or worse, summer school. But the whole ' going out with my friends to a party on a school night' was my idea.

Flashback:

"Dude! This is one SICK party." yelled Daniel over the loud music. "Yo Jacob, thanks for calling us."

"No problemo guys." said Jacob. He turned around and saw a a brunette calling his name and beckoning towards herself. "Now, if you'll excuse me. I have a date with destiny."he grinned as he walked over to the brunette waiting for him in the corner of the room.

"Fuck that asshole! Got himself a hottie." grumbled Daniel. I noticed that his face was a little redder than usual. I shook my head as I went over to the kitchen to grab something to drink. Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"Leo baby is that you? It's soooooo great to see you!"

I turned around and saw Kristina, one of the girls I had dated before. She was wearing a white crop top that said 'Keep Calm and say Fuck you'(I wonder where she got that from) and ripped blue jeans. That top was showing her cleavage. A LOT of her cleavage. I gulped.

"Leo! I'm so glad you came! Where have you been all this time?"

"Um, I've been.......around." i said as I tried to put on a fake smile."Ok, it's been nice chatting with you,but I gotta go." I really wanted to get the hell out of this place.

Before I could turn around to leave, Kristina yanked my arm and pouted,"Hey now Leo, where do you think you're running off to. Let spend some quality time together." God! Leave me alone!

And I did run. Well, not exactly run, but I managed to escape from Kristina's clutches. I headed towards the living room where there was no loud music to disturb me. I collapsed onto the couch. "Stupid parties." I'm not a big fan of them. Just because Daniel asked me, no, begged me to come, and therefore I came.

The party was in full swing. Some people were dancing, some were just lazing around and drinking. I tore my eyes away from a couple making out in one corner of the room. At least I THINK they were making out.

My head began to hurt like crazy, and my vision was blurry. I lay down on the couch and fell into a dreamless sleep.

The next thing I remember is waking up to the sound of something breaking. I opened my eyes, but it was dark. There was a sharp pain in my forehead. Suddenly I heard the sound of people yelling and then I saw a dim light and Benjamin's face glaring down at me.

End of flashback:

I slumped in the passenger seat as I looked at the shops and restaurants we were driving past. I used to dream about owning a small restaurant or cafe when I was a little kid.

My dream was to own a cafe which would be a hundred times better and popular than Starbucks. I had everything planned out, like what food u would serve there

But now my aunt wants me to run her movie industry. My aunt wants  me to take charge of the industry. My aunt is unmarried and she had no kids, so I'm her only choice. It's not that I'm not interested in the job, but I'm don't think I'm ready to head a movie industry.

"Well, we're here."said Benjamin.

A flower shop.

"Benjamin, what are we doing at a flower shop?"

"Your aunt asked me to pick up some flower crowns."

"Say what? Flower crowns?"

"It's for your aunt's party."

"Oh yeah. My aunt's crappy summer party." I mumbled as I got out of the car. "Good Earth Flower Shop"said the sign in big bold letters. I stepped inside the shop and I was hit by a range of different smells. The walls of the shop were white in color since the flowers gave the shop a colorful appearance.

"Hello, Welcome."said a soft voice. I turned around and saw a lady with ginger hair. Her eye color reminded me of chocolate brownies. "My name is Shirley. How may I help you?"

Benjamin stepped forward and said in an almost robotic tone, "We are here to collect Mrs Garcia's flower crowns."
"Oh. Right. Could you mind just waiting here for a few minutes? I'll just go get them." said Shirley as she scurried away. Benjamin sat down in one corner of the store and began to look at his phone.

I checked my phone. No new messages. "One word. BO-RING."I muttered as I walked around the shop. The variety of flowers were impressive. I walked past a shelf and something blue caught my eye.

"What the hell! Blue Roses?" I rubbed my eyes and looked at the roses closely. They were blue! The petals were a shade of deep blue, which was my favorite color, and there was a hint of green on the corners.

"I so want these."

I picked up the small vase of blue roses and placed it on the counter and waited for Shirley's arrival. Suddenly, I heard someone singing. Holy shit, that voice was so good. I recognized that song. It was 'All Of Me' by John Legend.

I followed the voice to the back on the shop. I saw a girl sitting and making flower crowns.

So,it's your voice.

I couldn't see her face as her back was facing me, but I stayed quiet. I wished time would slow down so that I could hear her sing forever. Her voice clear, soothing and sweet.

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!

I couldn't contain myself and I blurted out, "Wow! You have a damn good voice!"

She stopped singing. Are. You. Fucking. Kidding. Me? I was mentally slapping and kicking myself for being an asshole and disturbing her.

The girl abruptly turned around and looked at me. I felt my heart stop. She was............
Gorgeous.
