Chapter 12
I've been here for about five days. Let me tell ya San Jose is pretty cool. The weather is warmer and it's a big city! We live on a hill in a two story house. These people have some serious cash.
Cassie hasn't been the same since we left. Not only has she been acting strange around these people but she has a small cold. She never gets sick. I'm getting worried. I hope school would be better than the last. I still have this feeling as if I forgot something.
Well today's the day. A new day in a new school. I'm a nervous wreck. Cassie stood in her pajamas outside her door watching me run around like a headless chicken.
"Ashy."
I stopped. Her voice sounded strained.
"What is it?" I asked a little frantic.
"Take this. For gud wuck." She gave me her little necklace of a small flower. I bought it for her around a year ago.
I took it and gave her a hug. "Thanks sweetie pie."
"Aislinn are you ready?" I heard Mark say.
I gave Cassie one last hug and ran downstairs. I grabbed my backpack and ran downstairs. I followed Mark into the car and drove off into a school. We drove infront of the small high school of around 1,000 kids. The sign 'Lick High' indicated that we we're at the right spot.
I got out of the car and walked towards the small school. I walked into the office and saw a lady in her thirties. I walked up to her and she looked up.
"Yes?" Her voice sounded soft.
"Well, I'm new here. So I guess I need a schedule." I said.
Her mouth went from a thin line to an 'o'
"Yes, Aislinn Dugar. Hold on a sec." She said.
I heard the printer make a noise and looked over to see my schedule.
She handed it to me. "Here ya go."
I smiled and took the paper, "Thank you."
I left the office and checked my schedule. Here's how it went;
Period 1 - Biology rm 607 Ms. Jannis
Period 2 - Geometry rm1009 Mr. Nalek
Period 3- Piano rm 112 Ms. Lepsi
Period 4 - Art rm 765 Mrs. Belsod
Period 5- English 1A rm 231 Mr. Casanos
Period 6- P.E. GYM Ms.Shirik
I gaped at the last period. I've been here for only 5 days and I know how hot it can be. This is pure insanity! Why me? I went back inside to only see that the lady wasn't there. I let out a sigh of annoyance. I looked around totally confused. What am I suppose to do now? I guess walk around. I did just that and found my first room. Wow! I actually found my first room! Yay!
I walked in to see a small old short blonde lady with huge red rim glasses. She looked up at me and smiled.
"Hi I'm Aislinn. I'm in your first period class." I said.
"Oh yes, I was told that I was going to get a new student. Well lets see, just stand here till I find you a seat." She said moving papers around.
I just nodded and stood around. After awhile the bell rang. Kids started walking in one by one. They all looked at me and instantly I heard whispers.
The bell rang again, indicating that class started.
"Class this is Aislinn. She's new to this school so I would like for you to make her fell welcomed." Said Ms. Jannis.
All eyes were on me. I hate being the center of attention. I always felt uncomfortable. I smiled weakly and gave a half hearted wave.
"There's a seat between Janet and Lucifer." Ms. Jannis pointed toward the left of the room. The seat was towards the back.
I nodded and immediately sat down. Right as I did so Janet turned around.
"Hi I'm Janet. It's nice to meet you!" she had a natural shade of brown that went down to her waist. Her chocolate brown eyes represented a dreamer and her face still resembled a child.
"I'm Aislinn, nice to meet you too." I whispered.
"Hey can I see your schedule?" She asked.
My eyes furrowed "Why?"
She rolled her eyes, "I wanna see if we have any classes together."
I took it out and she instantly took it. She turned back around and didn't give if back for awhile. I looked around the classroom to see microscopes, sinks, posters to encourage you to do well in school and a lot of other stuff.
My schedule and a piece of paper were back on my desk. I read the note;
~Awesome you're in 4 of my classes! That's so cool. After 2nd I'll show you around. ~
I smiled atlease I don't have to worry about making friends. Friends....Oh No! I forgot to say goodbye to the boys! Aw man I feel horrible for forgetting to say farewell. Man I am a crappy friend.
Biology went by fast. The same thing happened in 2nd period which was annoying I really don't like being introduced to a whole class. Janet was in this class so I felt alittle relieved that I know someone. After the bell rang Janet showed me around the school. Its pretty hard to get lost at this school. The only problem is that there isn't enough bathrooms.
"So are you liking the school?" Janet asked.
"So-so. I get bored very easily." I said.
"Oh well then I guess I'm glad I'm in most of your classes." She smiled triumphantly.
"What other classes are you in?" I asked.
"The last two." She sighed.
I frowned alittle, "Oh."
"That's okay I'll show you to your next class."
"Okay."
She showed me my next class and disappeared into the crowd.
I went to the piano teacher and told her I was new and asked her not to introduce me. She smiled and agreed not to. I smiled and took a seat.
"Hey aren't you Aislinn?"
I looked up to see a tall boy. He had blackish-brown hair that hugged the sides of his face. He had bluish grey eyes and a flawless face. You can tell he was well built.
"Yeah that's me." I said barely above a whisper.
"Well I'm Lucifer. I'm in your first period class. I sit behind you." He said sitting next to me.
I played a small smile, "Really? Well I'm sorry for not noticing you."
"It's okay, so you're new to piano?" He asked.
I nodded, "Yup it was either this or Spanish."
"Ah, I see well if you need any help I'm here."
"I'll make sure to remember that."
Third went by fast, and fourth was pretty cool, Lucifer was in that class too.
It's lunch now and Janet found me at my locker.
"So are you ready for English?" she asked.
"You sound way more enthusiastic than usual." I said.
"Well you'll see." She smirked
