I checked my watch on the side table. It read, 7:30.
"Since Bill's asleep we should go downstairs and get some dinner." I suggested to Miles and he nodded.
I set the journal on top of my diary on the side table and me and Miles walked down the stairs to the kitchen to see what we could scrounge up.
At the bottom of the stairs, I heard the shack door opening and Melody walked in.
"Hey guys! You back from your forest adventure? Find anything cool?" She asked.
"You could say that." I said.
"Get anything for dinner?" Asked Miles.
"Why yes. I was actually just at the store." Melody said and put down her shopping bags.
"Just give me a sec and I'll make you something."
Once we had eaten I ran back upstairs to check on Bill but he was still out of it.... On my bed.
"Yo, Bill!" I whispered. "Get off my bed!" Bill grumbled and opened his eyes.
"Huh?" Bill groggily got up and then curled back up on the floor in a snoring heap. "Whatever." I said and walked downstairs to get ready for bed.

About two in the morning, I felt a something warm and heavy on my feet.
"Wha-?" I pulled my knees up to my chest and flipped on the light.
"Bill?! What are you doing?!" I said, instantly awake.
"Who turned on the lights?" Miles asked from across the room.
"Sorry." I said, "It's just...Bill." I gestured to Bill who was curled up at the foot of my bed.
"Hey! Wakey wakey Bill!" I told him and crawled to the end of the bed.
"Get up!" I said again and tried to roll him over. "Geez he sleeps like the dead."
I pushed him again and he tumbled off the bed.
"Whoops." I said. I looked at him and he was still asleep! He seemed okay so I pulled my covers up around me and turned off the light.

In the morning, A rustling noise and movement under my bed woke me.
"Now what?" I grumbled as I slid out of bed and looked under it. At first I could only see dust bunnies but then a pair of yellow catlike eyes peered out at me and I sighed.
"Come on Bill. What are you doing?" I asked him and helped him out from under the bed because he was apparently stuck.
"Where do you humans keep your food?" Bill asked me, "I'm starving." As if to emphasize his point, Bill's stomach grumbled.
"Stay here and I'll get you something. I don't think you should be seen." I told him and sat on my bed and nodded.
"And after that we can work on a bath." I said and wrinkled my nose at the dirt and grass stains on his clothes.

I stepped carefully down the stairs and tip toed to the pantry. It squealed open and I froze, hoping it hadn't woken anyone up. After waiting for a couple minutes I continued my hunt for Bill food. After grabbing him a soda, I found a microwaveable hamburger and stuck it in the microwave. I punched 2 minutes into it and started the machine. When the timer beeped I pulled out the steaming burger and brought it, along with the soda, upstairs to Bill.

"Here. It's called a hamburger." I said and Bill picked it up. "I also got you this too." I gave him the soda.
Bill popped the top on the soda and said,"I'm going to drink it like a person!" He dumped the fizzy liquid into his mouth but when his mouth was full it ran all over him and his face. When the soda was gone Bill turned to the hamburger.
He sniffed it and took a hesitant bite. "This is good!" He exclaimed and quickly demolished the rest of it.
"You good or are you still hungry?" I asked him and Bill gave me a thumbs up, licking sticky soda and the burger juice from his fingers.
At that moment, Miles woke up. "Hey guys." He said.
"Morning star-" Bill said but then corrected himself. "Sorry; Miles."
"Now how about that bath?" I suggested.

I led Bill to the bathroom and closed the door behind me.
"Question, have you ever taken a shower or bath before?" I asked him.
"No.." Bill replied.
This is going to be harder than I thought. I pulled open the shower curtain as Bill sat down on the toilet cover.
"So you turn these knobs and then take off your clothes and then use the soap to wash yourself, ok?" I told him.
"Um, okay..." Bill said and started to pull the knobs on the wall. A blast of icy cold water sent Bill careening backwards.
"Are you trying to kill me?!" Bill shrieked.
"Shh! Someone will hear you!" I said. "And you turned on the cold water instead of the hot."
I leaned past him and turned the hot knob a bit so the water would warm up.
When I turned back around Bill already had his shirt off.
"What are you doing?" I asked him trying to avert my gaze.
"You said get dressed." He looked at me, confused.
"Yeah but I meant AFTER I was out of the room." I said and ran to the door.
I opened it and then shut it again.
"That was close." I sighed and walked back to me and Miles room.
"Hey Miles, do you have any extra clothes?" I asked him.
"Yeah, what for?" Miles turned around.
"I tried teaching Bill how to take a shower." I pointed a thumb behind me.
Miles laughed, "I'm sure that went well. Here I won't wear these anytime soon." Miles threw me a wad of clothes.
"Ok thanks." I said and walked back down the hall to deposit the clothes at the bathroom door.
"Hey Bill?" I knocked on the door.
"What?" Bill replied from the other side.
"I brought you some clean clothes. They're outside the door when your done." I told him.
"Thanks small pine tree." Bill said jokingly.
"Yeah sure." I said and walked, yet again, down the hall to me and Miles room to write all that had happened the past few days into my diary.
