Arthur's POV:
I looked at Merlin. "If I die," I started, but he shook his head. "You won't." He said. "Well, if I do die, take care of Guinevere. Before the battle starts, I want to say thank you. You've been a loyal friend." I told him. I stuck my hand out, and he grabbed it. We both let go, and I turned around facing the knights. All of my knights were gathered in a huge group in front of me. I looked behind me and not far off saw Morgana and her men; I looked back at the knights. "Today you fight for justice. Each and every one of you took an oath; you promised to defend Camelot, or die trying. Today you honor that oath. I cannot guarentee that you will live, but I can guarentee that there is no greater cause to die for. I am proud to have you as my knights, you are the greatest knights in all of the five kingdoms. I know you will make me and Camelot proud." I said. "For the love of Camelot!" I shouted, raising my sword. "For the love of Camelot!" They shouted back. They repeated it three more times, and I turned to face Morgana and her men.
"Go!" I shouted, and ran for her men. My men followed me, and then Morgana's men charged towards us. I blocked the first man's move, and swiped my sword across his stomach. The man fell, and I moved on to the next one. He swung at me, but I ducked. He ran forward, and I turned around using the sword to hit him hard on the back. He fell and I moved to the next man.
Merlin's POV:
I set off to find Morgana. I walked around the edge of the battle field. One of Morgana's men came after me. I stuck my hand out, and he flew backwards. I saw a glimpse of black, in a secluded part of the forest. I ran there, and came face to face with Morgana. We were far away from the battle. "Hello, Merlin." she said, smiling. "Morgana, you don't need to do this." I said. She laughed. "I do. Do you know what it's like to have to hide who you are, to be afraid of getting executed because you have magic?" She asked. I looked down. and was silent. "Well, do you?" She asked. I looked into her eyes. "No." I replied. "That's what I thought." She said. "I can understand though; what it must feel like." I said. She laughed bitterly. Her eyes were so full of hatred and sadness. "You will never understand how it feels, you don't have magic. How could you?" She asked. I shook my head. "Shouldn't you be helping my dear brother? But your help won't make any difference, he's still going to lose." She said. "Then I have to stop you." I answered. "I'm a high priestess of the Old Religion, I really don't think you can stop me, Merlin." She said, turning around. "We used to be friends. You used to be friends with Me, Arthur, and Gwen." I said. She stopped walking, pausing. She turned back around to face me. "That was before I had magic, that life isn't a part of me anymore." She said. "It will always be a part of you." I said.
Anger flashed in her eyes. "You think you know me, Merlin?" She asked. "I know you feel betrayed, and hurt; so hurt. You want to have a life where magic is no longer outlawed in Camelot, you want to be free. You feel hurt that Uther executed many of your kind, and because of that you lashed out. You only want the throne so you can bring magic back to Camelot. You feel hatred so strong for Arthur, because he took the one chance of bringing magic back, away from you. I told you before, I understand." I said slowly. She looked troubled, almost surprised. "How could you possibly understand?" She asked in astonishment. "I just do." I said, not wanting to give away my secret. "No. No one would know that much, unless they knew the feeling themselves. You're just like me; you have magic." She said, realization clear in her eyes. I shook my head. N..no, no." I said. She nodded. "Yes, it all makes perfect sense, now. You have magic." She said. I gave up the fight, she was set in stone. "You had magic all these years. I came begging you for help, but you never did. I came to you wondering if I was a monster to have magic, you just ignored me, but you yourself had magic! You knew I was scared and afraid, you could've helped me, but you didn't!" She said, clearly upset and angry.
