Even though these have many different names, and are written in all kinds of languages, stories all have one thing in common.
Words.
The dictionary definition of "stories" is - an account of imaginary or real people and events, told for entertainment or education.
A book, is a three dimensional written or printed object. It consists of pages that are sewn or glued together along one side and bound on covers.
