"So what do you think?" asked Tina from Jordon. "I think about what, actually?" Jordon asked back. "About Maroon and Nathan. I think they like each other" "Ah..yeah.., Nathan like her, but he's afraid she may not like him." "What if she likes him too? May be Nathan is wasting time. Maroon likes him, I guess." They were walking to Tina's home, it was twilight, gloomy and serene, as they always have since they were ten-years-old. Even though both of them had 'best friends' then, they were doing great together, sometimes even better than best friends. They fit each other as two pieces of jigsaw puzzle, a comfortable company, as always.
"Yeah may be..." Jordon said. "How about you and Raphael?"
"What about me and Raphael?"
"Why, you tow are so close, you taught him karate, how to play the guitar, help him with maths homework, and he listens to you, he help you with gardening, sounds so romantic to me," Jordon said, and immediately jerked away to miss Tina's bag that flew at him. "He's fifteen. He is someone like my own brother, Jordon Blackmore. Don't you dare talk like that." Jordon picked up her backpack from the ground and put it on his vacant shoulder. "Fifteen and eighteen, I don't see a big difference." Jordon winked at her.
Tina couldn't help but wonder how handsome he is, red, untidy hair, blue-brown eyes, rimless glasses, broad shoulders, narrow hips, flat stomach, and tall. She was happy for her pal. Some gorgeous girl will fall for him someday. Some already have. "What about you and Mia?" "Mia?" Jordon raised his eyebrows. "Yep , she likes you."
They were at their doorstep. They entered and found a stranger, a boy about their age, seated with her mother. "Tina, are you home, honey?" "Hi mom," Tina said looking curiously at the visitor. "Halloo Mrs. Zornička," Jordon said behind Tina. "Hallo Jordon, by the way Tina, he's here to meet you. I should go now dear." She said standing and picking up her handbag from the table next to the door. "- food is in the fridge." she kissed Tina's cheek and gave Jordon a friendly smile, "Jordon take care of my girl, "and went out.
"Good afternoon, Miss. Valentina Zornička, my name is Gabriel Watson, one of the Windrunners. I am here to take you to somewhere you have to visit," he finished bowing his head. He was all black. It was a week passed since that day. They began to forget it by now, and then all of a sudden, some person appears and says, he wants them to come with him.
"Who are Windrunners?" Tina and Jordon asked him, together, Tina had begun to run pale and Jordon's expression tightened.
"I will explain it when we are there. Your Knight may come with you and your messengers as well. We have sent for them. You have time to change or eat if you want." He drew a black silk dress, folded neatly and black platform heels, black crystal hair ornament, and a silver necklace from his backpack. "I think you should wear black, Mr. Blackmore," he said bowing his head to Jordon. "Wait, who are you? What are 'Windrunners'?" Jordon sounded pissed off. "I will explain all once we get there." Gabriel said. "Fine," Tina stretched her hand towards Gabriel who handed the bag of cloths humbly to her, "you left that black shirt with me" she said to Jordon, and went to her room with Jordon following her. "How long have I got?" she turned again to ask Gabriel. "You can take your own time, Miss. Zornička."
After an hour Tina showed up in the living room where Jordon and Gabriel seated, hardly talking to each other. Jordon had a book in his hand, and Gabriel was enjoying the view out of the window. Jordon wore an elegant black shirt, making his his red hair look redder. "From where did you get that?" Tina asked wondering. "From the same place you got that," he said showing Gabriel. "You look great." Tina said, blushing. "You look great too," Jordon said closing the book, eyeing her from head to toe. The dress fit her perfectly, showing her cleavage a little, high heels just didn't give her extra height but enhance her natural curves, the magnificent dress, her height, her postures and her features gave her a exact look of a queen.
"Wow!" it was Nathan, who just came in with Raphael Maroon and another young man, all dressed in black now. "So can we leave now, Miss. Zornička?" Gabriel asked standing, "This is Dan, Dan Mayflower." The other boy bowed to Tina and Jordon. "Vehicles are ready," Dan said opening the door wider. Jordon went out first, then Maroon, Raphael and Nathan, then Dan. Tina started walking and turned back, "Mr. Watson, what if my dad comes home early, we need an explanation." Tina said to Gabriel. "Don't worry Miss; I can leave a message for him." Tina went out. She gasped when she saw two Mercedes-Benz S class cars. Boys got into one car with Dan and girls in the other with Gabriel. "Tina, have you got any idea where are we going?" Maroon asked. "No, but I'm sure they aren't kidnapping us, kidnappers don't use Mercedes." Tina said smiling at Maroon. Maroon rolled her eyes.
Tina saw Gabriel smiling. "How come you are so rich?" she asked him. "We do ordinary human jobs and the Morningstar pays us." If Tina was the one that was driving, she would hit the brake paddle hard, nevertheless, this driver seems notice nothing odd. Tina and Maroon looked at each other, but said nothing.
It took around an hour to reach their destination. Tina got out and found a well-designed building. Jordon, Raphael and Nathan were already standing in front of the door. "Had a pleasant way, ladies?" Jordon asked smiling, not his usual smile, but an alarmed one.
"Please follow me," Dan told them and led them to a comfortable living room, "He will be here soon."
"Who will be here soon?" Jordon asked, "Don't tell me that Morningstar wants to meet us."
"He meant me, actually." A melodious, but cold voice spoke behind them. They all turned together. Young, handsome, brown-haired man stood behind them. He was smiling, he was also clad in black, and his eyes shone grey in the bright light. "My name is Jerome Cromwell, the Lord of the Midnight. Nice to meet you all, Mr. Ray, Master Ray, Miss. Sounders, Mr. Blackmore," he shook everyone's saying their names, "Miss. Zornička," he took Tina's hand finally, she expected a hand shake but he lift the hand and bent a little, then kissed it gently.
"Domina caliginem, recipiant vos ad locum nostrum, Aura." He said, straighten to his back, smiling.
"Lady of the darkness, we welcome you to our home, the breeze."
