All Taylor wanted was a friend. A friend who would be there for her through right and wrong, a friend who she could trust, a friend who would listen to her problems and help her come up with a solution, a friend who she could tell her secrets to. All she wanted was a true friend. Was that too much to ask for?
Apparently, it was because, at age 18, the only friends Taylor had were her cats, Olivia and Meredith, and they weren't even human.
Taylor walked through the hallway of her school with her head ducked, incase anyone tried to throw something. It didn't hurt when it was food or pencils or erasers but, a few times students threw books at her and that hurt, especially if it was a math book.
One time, Taylor remembered, a girl threw her diary at Taylor. Taylor tried to read it during lunch break, but it was so boring that she almost fell asleep. Taylor put the diary in the lost and found basket.
Taylor smiled at herself at the memory and walked to the school's garden which was in the backside of the school. She sat down on the surprisingly soft grass, took out the 'Romeo and Juliet' book and her lunch and quietly read while eating the delicious BLT she had made for herself.
While reading, Taylor noticed a shadow of a person on her book. Expecting it to be a bully, she shielded herself and spoke with her beautiful soft voice."Take my lunch or give me your homework. I can do it, just don't hurt me." Her voice almost cracked as she spoke.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I've noticed you're alone a lot, so I decided to tell you about a new program." A new teacher, Ms. Lillian, said.
Taylor set aside her books and lunch to make space for Ms. Lillian to sit down.
"What's the program?" Taylor asked in a soft voice and Ms. Lillian's heart broke.
She couldn't believe that such a beautiful and kind girl such as Taylor could be so lonely. It was Ms. Lillian's first day teaching at the school and she saw Taylor constantly getting bullied. Now, she knew that even students who are bullied have at least one friend but, Taylor, she didn't.
"Well, the program is a buddy program in which a student can send anonymous letters to a person who lives close to the student and can get advice from the person. Would you like to join?" Ms. Lillian asked Taylor.
Taylor thought for a while, maybe she could ask the person how she could get friends. Or, maybe she could become friends with the person.
'Yeah, that's a good idea.' Taylor thought to herself before looking at Ms. Lillian with her first genuine smile.
"Yes, I'd like to join." She said, nodding.
"Great! I'll give you information about the person you'll be mailing." Ms. Lillian got up and walked away to write Taylor's name in the list of people who had joined the program.
She looked at the list of people who were participating in the program and smiled when she found the perfect person who she knew would help Taylor.
Ms. Lillian took the sheet of information about him in her hand and walked back to the school garden. She saw Taylor was reading the book again and smiled. It was hard to find girls who still liked to read, nowadays.
She tapped her shoulder and Taylor jumped.
"It's me, Ms.Lillian." She reassured and Taylor relaxed.
"Here is information about your 'mail buddy'." Ms. Lillian said and handed over the sheet to Taylor. "If you need me, I'll be in my class room." She said, before walking away.
Taylor looked at the sheet in her hand and pondered whether to open it or not. Sighing, Taylor prayed that it wasn't someone who'd tell her to get therapy and it would actually be someone who would read her letters and give her honest advice.
She opened it and gasped when she saw who it was.

A/N :
Yay, prologue is published.Okay, now I know a lot of you are going to point out that they are much older than 18 but, I have to make them 18 or else it would be weird for Taylor to still be in high school.
Just imagine this story was taking place in 2012 because that is when people started calling him a womanizer because of his relationship with Caroline Flack who was double his age.
Plus, 2012 was a good year, we had Haylor, we had the Take me Home album, we had Taylor's straight hair, we had Taylor swift becoming pop.The only thing bad about 2012 was Liam's hair. I mean, the lack of Liam's hair.
But anyways, I hope you enjoy reading this story as much as I enjoy writing it.
