Chapter 6: I Can Explain

.:Nagisa POV:.

I awoke to the bright sun coming through my eyes. I sat up slowly, looking around. I was in my bed. I don't remember ever laying down here. As I looked around in confusion, I smelled something sweet. I love food! I never expected my family to make breakfast for me, they never do!
As I dashed into the kitchen, smelling all kinds of greatness, I ran towards the person as fast as I could. I leaped in the air, enveloping them in a hug from the side. I began to feel my face heat up slightly as I realized who I was hugging.
"N-Nagisa-kun!" The person said, slightly fumbling to catch his balance.
"Uh...H-hey Rei-chan! I didn't know you stayed the night!" I stuttered, mildly embarrassed.
"Oh uh, yes, I stayed the night. I hope that wasn't a problem, it was just Friday and today is Saturday and-"
" It's fine, Rei-chan. Whatcha making?" I questioned. Whatever it was, it smelled delicious.
"I am making a beautiful masterpiece, fluffy pancakes and crisp bacon."
I gasped at the sound of the meal, sniffing the air again.
"It smells awesome! Normally I just run out the door with a piece of toast! Sometimes it's just bread if I forget to put it in the toaster."
"Really?!"
"Yeah! Really!"
"Wow, well you can have toast if you want I won't make you-"
"No! Toast is nothing compared to this!" I responded, as Rei-chan put a stack of pancakes and some bacon onto a plate.
Rei-chan handed me a plate with a delicious breakfast in the platter. It looked soo good! I sat down at the table and began to chow down on the heavenly food.
"MMMMM!!!!"
" Is it alright?"
"Rei-chan, this is delicious!"
"Really? I'm glad!"
I finished the wonderful meal and hopped over to the couch. I would still be in my room, crying, if Rei-chan hadn't came. He meant everything to me. When I met him, he changed my life for the better. He was the best thing that ever happened to me. And I love him.
"Nagisa-kun, is there anything you'd like to do today?"
I was snapped out of my thoughts as Rei-chan asked me what we should do.
"Dunno."
"Alright, then go get dressed. We can just go wherever."
I skipped to my room to get dressed. I grabbed an orange tank top, and put a plaid, light blue, shortsleeved flannel over top. I threw on a pair of khaki shorts, and to top it all off, I grabbed a pink tie and put it on. Colors! Yay!!

.:Rei's POV:.

Nagisa ran down the hall in his colorful attire. Most people I know couldn't wear that many colors an look good, but Nagisa-kun made it work. He spun around in a circle and gave a great smile.
"How do I look, Rei-chan?"
I looked at him and smiled.
"You look very nice, Nagisa-kun."
He looked up at me and giggled. He seemed a lot more like himself today. It wasn't the clothes that he wore that made him always look great. It was the smile he showed off and the bright personality. It isn't that I love him in a romantic way, it's all just a compliment on his personality!
"Rei-chan, don't you need to change too?" Nagisa-kun questioned.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Perhaps we could stop by my house so I can change?"
We walked out the door (well, more like skip for Nagisa-kun) and started our trip to... my house.

We arrived at my house. It wasn't the largest home, but it was enough to support my family, and I loved it here.
"Wow! Rei-chan, this place is awesome! You live here?!" Nagisa-kun exclaimed when he stepped inside.
"U-um yes, I do live here. And thank you, I try my best to keep it looking beautiful."
Nagisa-kun smiled gleefully as I led him to my room. He grabbed a lime green vest and a navy shirt and handed them to me, as I picked out a pair of slightly skinny jeans. He left the room and allowed me to change.
I left my room and walked into the living room. Nagisa-kun turned to me, his eyes lighting up. He ran towards me and did the unthinkable... he jumped.
I watched him fly towards me, shocked. Instinctively, I spread out my arms to catch him. His body landed in my arms, his legs snaked around my waist, his arms around my neck. My arms clung tightly to the smaller boy's back. Nagisa-kun's giggling subsided as he laid his head on my shoulder. I felt his grip tighten around me. He was unusually quiet, as he just held on. His frail build just sat there, in my arms, hanging on like his life depended on it. He seemed like a mixture of confused, content, depressed, and scared. He seemed like he needed it, so I held on to him like he held on to me. I just stood there, holding a boy, lost in the moment. Then, I heard crying, and not from Nagisa-kun or I. I turned my head, to look into my mother's watering eyes.
"Rei... w-what are you doing? W-why?!" She asked, with shock, anger, and fear.
"M-mom.. I can explain."

(A.N. Oh my gosh it has been so long! I feel absolutely terrible for not updating, because I know that there are some of you that read and enjoy this series. I'M SOSOSOSOSO SO SORRY! I'll try to update more frequently now that I'm on summer break. ANYWAYS... I guess incase you didn't read the description to the story, I should tell you that Rei has homophobic parents, and since his mom caught him holding a *cough cough* "friend", she immediately came to the conclusion that the two boys were dating, which they are not... yet.
