I'm Savanna

My name is Savanna; I was named after my mother's cat that had died when she was young. I am a normal 10th grader from California. My whole life had been completely normal, a regular 16 year old girl, that's what I told everyone, that's what I knew. A regular 16 year old girl. Nothing miraculous. Until now...

"Savanna! Look what I just found on the web!" Amelia, my best friend, screamed from down the corridor. I shut my locker slowly to see my friend running through the crowd of students huddling in the corridor.

"Look at this," Amelia held her iPhone screen in my face to show me a picture of a sandy beach.

"So, what's so special about a beach?" I asked confused. As I looked away from the phone I saw Adrienne, the sweetest boy in the WHOLE of 10th grade. He stopped by my locker,

"Hey, Amelia, I heard you wanted to invite me to your birthday party on Sunday." He ran his hand through his golden hair,

"Yea, we are going to the beach! Are you coming with?" She winked at me and then looked back towards Adrienne. I looked at Adrienne and then back to Amelia, has she really invited Adrienne, my crush, to her party. There had to be a reason for this, did she have a crush on him too? I couldn't be sure but my concentration left my body when he turned and looked me right in the eyes.

"Hey, Savanna are you going to the beach with Amelia for her birthday?" His eyes were just like I had imagined them, Green and perfect. I stared at him until suddenly I remembered that we were talking (I remembered because I dropped my books onto my feet). I bent down to pick them up only to find his hand lying on top of mine. I smiled at him and then picked my books up and put them in my bag.

"Uh, Savanna is coming to the beach for my B-day. Aren't you Savanna?" I nodded and then looked back at Adrienne.

"I'll definitely be able to make it I have no plans on Sunday. Do you think you could come get me from my house?" Adrienne's house, Adrienne's actual house. I think I'm going to throw up. Not of disgust; But of excitement! What am I going to wear! OMG its Friday I have got to buy my outfit tomorrow! What am I going to do?

"Yea sure my mom is going to drive us there. I just need to know where you live." Amelia elbowed me as I literally stood there looking stupid. Adrienne placed his hand onto my shoulder to give me a friendly hug, I smiled but I felt like I was going to die on the floor and make a fool of myself.

"I'll meet you outside my house it's number 1 Richman road. " Adrienne released me from his arm and walked towards Amelia.

"Adrienne Richman, You have got to be kidding me. And I thought you were weird Savanna," I scowled at her "I'm just kidding Kitty, Claws in." She called me kitty because I'm named after my mom's cat. Adrienne smiled at me and said, "What can I say, my father is a very rich-man. Um, I better be going. See ya, Ladies," I waved goodbye to him and then the bell rang. It was time to go home ....
