Rain pounded on the rooftop. It was dark outside, except for the lightning that flashed after every sound of thunder that was heard. The roads outside where flooded, and there was bound to be no school the next day because of it.
Everyone in the town was inside their homes, why would anyone possibly be out at night during a storm? Some people would. A boy and a girl. They look almost exactly the same, and both just the age of eight years old. They both had midnight black hair, icy blue eyes, pale skin, and long limbs. They seemed like people from a fairytale as they stood in the pouring rain, side by side.
The boy and girl –twins—stood out in the rain for a long, long while. The girl flinched slightly every time thunder sounded and the boy squeezed his eyes shut when lightning flashed, but they stayed out there.
The boy twin was holding a small bundle of blankets in his arm, while his other hand was holding his sister's hand. The bundle of blankets was a small one year old boy. He had dark brown hair, and golden brown eyes, and was wrapped in a dark red blanket that fit him perfectly.
They both had on similar clothes. They both had on dark jeans, Black T-shirts, black and white converse, and had on large hoodies with the hoods up. Despite the hoods being over their heads, it didn't prevent their heads from getting wet. They were both soaked from head to toe.
The twins stood outside of a house. The house was by a dark forest, and the house alone looked plenty dark itself. Three lights were on inside, a bedroom, a hallway, and the living room. And no one living was even in the house.
Think it's a joke to just make this seem eerie? Well no, there was no one living at all. Three bodies lay in the house. And those twins and the toddler outside, where the survivors of what happened, something they were completely oblivious too.
"H-Hyde! Wake u-up!" The boys' twin eight-year-old sister whispered, shaking him awake.
"Huh? What?" He said, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. His sister climbed under the blankets with him, while holding onto his arm. He could make out her scared expression on her face.
"There is a storm outside... I heard thunder. It was really loud..." She whimpered. The boy sat up and wrapped an arm around her.
"Shh, don't worry Hydria, it'll go away soon eno-" He started saying but was interrupted by thunder, and a flash of lightning. He squeezes his eyes shut and tightened his grip on his sister, Hydria.
"You're scared of lightning... Aren't you? Why didn't you tell me?" She asked as she uncovered her ears.
"I-I... Ugh... I don't know." He admitted. "I should have told you... I'm sorry." He said looking down.
"You don't have to say sorry. I understand." She said giving him a smile. He smiled back and hugged her.
"Thanks, sis. Hey, do you know what time it is? It's really dark." He said glancing out the window. She shook her head and frowned.
"I don't know... Do you think Mummy and Daddy are awake? We can probably sleep in their room for the night." She suggested. He nodded his head and slipped out from under the covers revealing dark blue night clothes. Hydria slipped out from under the covers next to him and was wearing the same shade of blue nightgown. They both where barefoot as they walked out of the room down the hall to their parent's room.
