Zombies: Big 8

Chapter one

Elsa's POV

"Anna close the curtains." I tell my sister while packing food, clothes and water. She's been looking out the window for the past hour now waiting for our parents to arrive.

"Elsa what if they find us before mom and dad come home?" Anna asks scared and I finish packing and look at her sympathetically.

"Anna we will survive this, mom and dad are gonna come home and we'll go to our secure home in the mountains." I convince her and she nods coming away from the window and closing the curtains.

We then sit at the TV and I turn on the only channel that's working, the news. The fact I can only get one channel to work means that this Z-virus is bad and it's already gotten to the TV station downtown.

Our mansion is up on Hollywood Hills looking down on the city so we will be safe for at least a few days but by then we'll be gone and living in the mountains with mom and dad away from all the chaos in the city.

The TV works fine and I can see a man in his 40's, maybe 50's with a script in his hands. The electricity must be down already. We have this type of solar power that gives us electric no matter what so our lights and electronics work fine but most the people in this city couldn't care less about solar power and the type we have is expensive so very few mansions will still have electricity.

"This is North Kringle reporting from channel 1 news, our reporter was in an accident earlier today and is currently in hospital." He explains then continues, "The Z-virus as it is being called has spread worldwide and many are being killed. In the past 24 hours since the outbreak estimated...." The reporter stops then looks up at the camera with a look of hopelessness, "4 billion people have been killed. Men, woman and children. Stay indoors and lock yourself in, this is the apocalypse, for all we know human life has come to an end. Good luck." He says then the channel goes down too.

I look at my sister who's been crying the whole time and I hug her tightly, "Anna I'll protect you, I promise." I tell my sister closing my eyes tight as I hug her and she sniffs.

"Elsa what happens if mom and dad don't come home?" She asks and I break apart the hug and look at her.

"Anna don't say that, they will come home and we'll make it out alive, all of us." I tell her and she nods staying strong.

"We should put planks over the windows and doors like they do in the movies." She says sniffing and I nod holding back tears as I get some planks, this is just like the movies but real. I never knew the world would end like this. I never knew I would end like this.
