Chapter 23

Erin's Pov

The images of Jay lying motionless in that basement flooded my memory as I slept until it got so bad I woke up in a cold sweat, not knowing what happened or where I was just working about Jay ... And what I was going to tell Alex.. God Alex... I jumped awake and then      Cringed in pain as I realised I was in the hospital. I looked over to see Olivia asleep in the chair next to my bed. I could here Voight shouting at nerves out side my room, I couldn't help but smile, that was cut short by the pain shooting up my side. I cringed slightly louder than expected and Olivia woke:

O- Erin! Your ok thank god!*hugs Erin*

E- ah I'm still sore where's Jay?!

O-hey sorry I'll get Voight one minute...

E- Olivia where's Jay!

O- I'm just getting voight he's dying to see you!

*walks out and gets Voight. Walks in with voight*

V- hey kid, I'm so glad your ok.. *hugs Erin*

E- it's good to be alive and all but where's Jay!!

V- Erin ... It's not good... He lost a lot of blood I'm waiting for an update.

E- HES OK RIGHT ... He has to be ok ...

V- Erin calm down he's strong... Alex is on her way Natalie is with her Kim and Sean are giving her an escort.

E- SHIT Alex what am I supposed to tell her ...*starts to cry*

V- it's ok Erin he's going to be ok *interupted by a nurse walking into the room*

Nurse: I understand you are the family present for Jay Halstead.

E- yes ... *crys* please tell me he's ok...

Nurse: I understand He has a daughter is she around...

V- she's on her way

E- I'll tell her when she gets here ... But what's going on please just tell me!

Nurse: ok so mr Halstead sustain massive injuries aside from the gun shot wound, he had a dislocated elbo and we relocated it while he was still unconscious, he had massive internal bleeding and coded on the table once but we got him back, he is stable for now but nowhere near out of the woods. He's in a coma at present but should come out of it soon. He is in room 211 if you would like to see him.

E- yes ... *attempts to walk but collapses*

O- woo Erin take it easy *catches erin and places her on the bed*

E- I have to see him!!

Nurse: ma'am you have sustained major injuries a recommend you sit down you had a surgery to fix your internal bleeding so you should take it easy!.

V- Erin sit down!

Nurse: I can get you a wheel chair but your not ment to be out of bed so you can only have 10 minutes.

E- thank you!!

Nurse- I mean it 10 minutes you need to rest!

E- deal!

*nurse gets Erin a wheel chair*

As Voight and olive help me into the wheelchair although I'm in a lot of pain al I can think about is Jay and how I have no idea what I'd do without him if he didn't make it. Who would be my partner at work? Who would I go for beers with? Who would I spend
all night talking and venting about my day with? And Alex... God Alex...? I have to keep positive for Jay for Alex and for me! He's a fighter, he will be ok!? Olivia pushes me in my wheelchair with Voight towards Jays room, I sit there counting the room numbers 209...210..211 Jays room. I look up at Olivia and she pushes me to his bed side "come on Hank let's take a walk" she says as I smile at her. "You good kid?" He asks "ya I'll be fine thanks" I look up at his motionless body with bruises on his face similar to mine:

E- hey Jay it's me! Your ok you just have to open your eyes, I just want you to say you love me ... And kiss me and be an amazing dad to Alex again. I love you Jay and I'm right here *squeezes Jays hand* right here! You just have to be strong and wake up for Alex for me for us!

3rd person PoV

Erin's heart jumped as she felt the light squeeze of Jays fingers around hers:

E- Jay , Jay I'm right here!

J- Erin...

E- hey baby your ok I'm right here!

J- are you o...

E- I'm fine, but you ... Jay it's bad but your doing well!:)

J- I love you! Water...

E- hey ok here *passes Jay water* I love you too! *kisses jay*

J- ah I'm still a bit sore babe

E- ya me to

J- I have something to ask you ...

E- anything

J- so we've known each other a long time and Alex oh god where's Alex...

E- it's ok she's getting a police escort with Kim Sean and Natalie she should be here soon..

J- grate ok so ya know each other for longtime blady bla and we have Alex and we are her parents. ...*takes a breath in between the pain* And your my parter in crime and partner in stopping it. Ha but were amazing together well I think so. *cringes pain while trying to sit up*

E- hey take it easy...

J- I need to finish ...But we've been together for a while now and it's been the best time of my life, I've been thinking about when to do this but why not now Erin Lindsey will you ...m...a...

*jays machine started to beep*

E- Jay ... JAY! Hey baby stay with me please ... Will I what ... Jay ...

*beep beep beeeeeeep (flat line)*
